Hey snobbish a'hole, just a little FYI, your girl Povetkin was offered that fight vs Eilder and then said he needed 6 months to be ready.Lancenix wrote:Lancenix wrote:A North American like you ignores all of the opponents that Wilder has fought since winning the title from a Canadian bum and dumpster fire. But you are angry over his resume which frankly sucks! That is not my fault and Potvetkin has been the mandatory for awhile and he has avoided him. Wilder is nothing but another cowardly North American and his new name for now will be the "BRONZE CHICKEN." Because frankly that is what he is. A Southern Fried BRONZE CHICKEN who walks around with the WBC belt but will not fight the guys to defend it that would validate him as a champion. The champ should have to defend it versus the NO. 1 contender every time or give up the belt! Boxing has conditioned its' fans to settle for junk and that is what Wilder is. Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
He did away with holding, but he made Povetkin look like a below average fighter. A lot of other opponents gave Wlad more to think about. He has impressed recently, but I think Wilder will win.Lancenix wrote:Wlad got away with a lot of holding though and I do not see Wilder fighting in that same style at all. Potvetkin may do to Wilder the same he did with Mike Perez. That would not surprise me one bit.Batley18 wrote:It is impossible for me to get the Wlad Vs Povetkin fight out of my head when looking at this fight. Pov was absolutely dismantled. Wilder, although crude and nowhere near as strong technically, will be quicker to the jab and perhaps have too much power.
Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
Povetkin obliterated Charr, Perez, Takam and Wach. Wilder struggled with Molina, Dahaupas, Szpilka.conty22 wrote:Szpilka was all wrong for Wilder. He was a southpaw with a decent head movement.
Even Wladimir Klitschko strugled against Jennings and Fury and ask yourself why ?
Because Jennings and Fury did not go forward to his shots unlike Pulev or Povetkin.
Povetkin seems to be most overrated guy on boxingforum24.
He has no jab , no defence at all and he is coming forward shots like a robot.
Wladimir knocked him with a jab
He fought only small guys with a similiar boxing style.
Wach is a slow robotic punching bag who trhew 8 jabs per round lmao.
So do not complain about that Povetkin won against Wach.
Wilder will probably start whooping Povetkin after 3rd round.
I see Wilder winning wide UD or even late tko.
I think that Wilder is much better in late rounds.
Why there is so much hype about Povetkin?
Guys like Haye , Ortiz are much worse matchups for Wilder.
Lmao even Peter Fury does not understand about this hype about this small guy.
Peter Fury even does not rate Povetkin as a top 5 hw.
I think that Fury knows much more about boxing that those wannabie boxing experts from boxing24.
And this guy conclude that Povetkin is overrated. Stupidity has no boundaries.

Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
Totally agree. Povetkin is a world/ Olympic amateur champion, who's professional resume far exceeds anything Wilder has accomplished. Wilder has been embarrassing since he won world title, three defences against opponents who are in very few peoples current top 20 or even 30. If Eric Molina can wobble him and Szpilka can outbox him for large periods of their contest, imagine what Povetkin will do to him. People forget he's just knocked out Mike Perez in a round who would easily dismantle any of the part time boxers Wilder's been fighting recently.Tarkus wrote:Povetkin obliterated Charr, Perez, Takam and Wach. The argument people make about Wilder been undefeated is a joke as well. Brian Nielsen went 49-0 and he wasn't exactly the second coming. Wilder has beaten one decent fighter in their prime, Stiverne, that's it. How anyone can think he'll beat Povetkin "with style" is nonsensical. He's not a patch on the Klistchko who beat Povetkin. Like most heavweights, given the fact he is heavy handed he has a punchers chance..that's it. My view will be an easy UD or late stoppage win for Povetkin.

Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
I reckon Povetkin will outbox him all the rounds then Wilders corner will show Povetkin his wife as a hostage gagged and crying. Then Povetkin will get angry
and thats when Wilder knocks him out
Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
Povetkin has beaten some first class opponents (in a weak division) while Wilder has struggled with pretty mediocre (even by today's standards) victims and is still working on basic skills. Povetkin lost to Klinchko thanks in part to an incredibly inept referee, but Wilder is nowhere near Klinchko talent-wise. I'm not convinced Wilder won't pull a Riddick Bowe and trash his WBC belt to avoid Povetkin.
If this fight is actually signed, it's one I'll really be looking forward to. I'm betting Tyson Fury is hoping Wilder wins the way Charlie Martin did.

Bullshit, Povetkin wanted to fight straight away, but Wilder and his team prefered to fight a few bums before Povetkin to make as much money as possible, that's why Wilder asked for Andrzej Wawrzyk, asked for the 19 year old Hughie Fury. Hughie Fury actually said he would accept it if he received 8 weeks, but Wilder realised that was too risky so refused. Povetkin gave Wilder the choise, fight straight away or fight someone else and fight Povetkin around summer 2016. Wilder chose to fight Duhaupas and fight Povetkin in summer 2016.Undefeated49-0 wrote:Hey snobbish a'hole, just a little FYI, your girl Povetkin was offered that fight vs Eilder and then said he needed 6 months to be ready.Lancenix wrote:Lancenix wrote:

Povetkin meanwhile moved on as well and fought Wach because Wilder was too scared.
All of a sudden Wilder acted like he wanted to fight Povetkin anyway in januari, Povetkin kept his word, which said they would fight around summer 2016. Now Wilder, sad silly boy like he is, suddenly acted like it was the 36 year old Povetkin who wasn't ready for Wilder yet.
Now how retarded must you be to think that's even close near the truth?
It was Povetkin who hasn't been beaten at all between may 2003 and and oktober 2013, meanwhile winning Olympic gold, world championships, European championship for the 2nd time, and now suddenly he wasn't ready "yet"? He needed more time? Bullshit, he just kept his word while Wilder kept lying and avoiding till he couldn't any more.

Brooklyn, New York - Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34 KO’s) has a date for January 16th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Though he has a date and venue, he does not have an opponent. Wilder says if he had it his way, his January opponent would have been his mandatory, Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin.
“Enough is enough and that’s why I’m calling out every heavyweight in the division,” Wilder told BS.com. “He (Povetkin) wanted a tune-up for me in [Mariusz] Wach but people don’t know that. Be about what you say. I’m ready for whoever. I’m done playing around. I don’t have to get ready because I’m always ready.”
Wilder feels Povetkin didn’t need a tune-up for him and in fact the wait to fight him might have actually hurt the challenger.
“My team does what I say and I wanted that fight in January but then Povetkin says he needs 6 months to prepare for me,” Wilder explained. “It don’t take that long, two months is the max. It don’t take that long putting wear and tear on your body if you taking abuse in the ring, you really ain’t no good especially with a guy like me. My accuracy is up there with Floyd Mayweather. My last fight I threw more punches than Fury and Klitschko put together.”
Wilder wanted to set the record straight because the perception of many is that he does not want to fight Povetkin.
“That’s what happen when you get writers that write how they feel. Everyone in this room not for Deontay Wilder and that’s fine. People read that and they take it and run with it.”

I assume the Klitschko's behaved the same way like they did against Tyson Fury, with the trampoline and the wrong gloves for Tyson and everything.
If you can give me more details, please do.
Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
All American Fight fans don't love Wilder or think he's the 2nd coming. I think he's a flash in the pan, and Povetkin is gonna distinguish that flash in a flash.
Now some fighters get better after being defeated. Some don't. Point is, I think Wilder still has large defensive flaws that are most likely not going to be remedied until he pays a heavy price for them. Povetkin is the guy to make him pay that price.

Deontay fought far more as twice as much as that and he still didn't feel ready.

Yeah but if you were to total up how many actual rounds (Complete rounds, that is) that Wilder actually have in all of those fights (remember they ended early) then you can clearly see that he doesn't have a lot of experience.asdfjkl wrote:Oh wow, now I read the story: http://www.BS.com/povetkin-im- ... hot--41129

I'm not making excuses for him, you've proven your point (kudos to you) but we can't say because a fighter has had 30 fights that he has 30 fights worth of quality experience when the vast majority ended in three rounds or less.

Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
Just look at any youtube vid of Wilder his first 20 ish fights, nearly all the commentators say he should step up against better competition, many opponends even give up while sitting on a chair here an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUlfI5VlZuYUndefeated49-0 wrote:Yeah but if you were to total up how many actual rounds (Complete rounds, that is) that Wilder actually have in all of those fights (remember they ended early) then you can clearly see that he doesn't have a lot of experience.asdfjkl wrote:Oh wow, now I read the story: http://www.BS.com/povetkin-im- ... hot--41129
So after 14 pro fights and an injury, his coach said he wasn't ready for Klitschko and advised to avoid him back in 2008.
Well sorry, but call me any boxer in history who was ready for Klitschko after 14 pro fights lol.
Deontay fought far more as twice as much as that and he still didn't feel ready.
I'm not making excuses for him, you've proven your point (kudos to you) but we can't say because a fighter has had 30 fights that he has 30 fights worth of quality experience when the vast majority ended in three rounds or less.
Even after 25 fights, he took a 16 wins 0 loses opponend, now that sounds impressive doesn't it?
Wasn't it for the fact that his opponends only fought 3 matches in the past 11 years before Wilder and used to be 80 pounds lighter in his last fight before Wilder:

You can't call that serious competition right?
In Povetkin's 15th fight he fought a 30-0 boxer with a boxrec rating of 379 (to compare, Stiverne, Wilder's highest rated opponend ever, currently has a rating of 294), every single opponend of Wilder combined in his first 15 fights have a total rating of 79 ( 0+0+0+2+5+1+0+0+3+4+0+3+52+1+8=79 the 52 never had such a high rating ever since, losing 85% of his fights).
I'm sorry, but I really struggle to take any of the numbers of Wilder serious, you can't compare them to any normal boxer.
On the first sight you expect him to be absolutely superior, with his 97% KO rating and such things, but when you look a second time...

that's pure comedy.Tarkus wrote:Wilder struggled with Molina, Dahaupas, Szpilka.
-molina lost all but one round on two cards, and every round on the other, then knocked out.
-dahaupas lost all but one round on two cards, and every round on the other, then knocked out.
-only one judge gave spilka a single round before getting carried out on a stretcher.
