Fury going to duck Klitchko
According to Russian boxing site - Fury will not fight a rematch (and compensate Vlad with 9M, in accordance with the contract) and will concentrate on ABC belts unification.
Maybe that's his "big announcement"????

Perhaps more easy for most users
Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
That's crazy, completely outboxes the guy and then has to pay him 9mill.

That would be great news.

Bull
Peter fury just said fight close to being announced very soon for uk

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
This is the best news i've heard in a long time. Let's keep Wlad as far away from those belts as possible. This is super.
Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
As if Fury has that kind of cash. He would need to find a rather wealthy investor he could pay back from subsequent match ups. So Fury essentially has to cowardly duck a rematch then give up his next few purses, provided they find a big name opponent, in order to carry out the duck.
Makes no sense.

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
He'll pay him 9 million? Really? Sounds far fetched to me

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
Highly unlikely. Peter Fury has just stated deal is being close to done with Wlad to fight in UK.
Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
No chance this is true, never heard of someone paying out £9 million to duck someone.
As others have said, it isn't like he won with a single punch KO, he outboxed him...no need to go into hiding.

Fury is a coward. He's a ducker. Boxers are cowards. Big Man says so from the safety of his house

Peter Fury has informed WBN that the scheduled rematch between unified heavyweight champ Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko will definitely go ahead next, with the fight very likely to take place in the UK.
Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
If Fury is going to do that, why didn't he fight Glaskov?

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
Yeah. I often thought in the build up to the first fight, and even walking to the ring blowing kisses, how intimidated fury looked. Winning 10 out of 12 rounds will no doubt have added to this fear tremendously.

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
It makes no sense for him to duck Klitshko and pay him 9 million.
He's already beaten him once, and didn't look one bit fazed, he's going to be even more confident second time around.
If the fight comes to the UK, it will absolutely huge, a lot of the casuals will buy tickets, and I'd expect PPV numbers from both UK and Europe to be huge as Wlad has huge support in Germany and Eastern Europe.
It's a no brainer that this will happen.

If he is capable of winning them back, does he not deserve them? If he can't beat Fury, does it matter?
If he wins them back will he protect them by not fighting the best, the way Wilder has?

Russian boxing news sites are among the least credible. Take it with a grain of salt. I fully expect Fury and Wlad to meet their obligations.

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
Complete nonsense the Fury's have always said they wanted the rematch clause in the contract as they new a rematch would pay so much. Let's say he was willing to fork out £9m to avoid a fight he will almost certainly win, who would he fight to earn more than that Inorder to make it financially viable? It's not like there is a Tyson or Lewis out there where he could make £30m.
Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
he should fight klitschko and schedule a wilder
bout the week after ... the snooze feast with wlad
won't be more exhausting than three rounds
sparring.

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
The last thing that Boxing needs right now is Wlad getting lucky somehow and winning this title back. Wlad is horrible for the sport and has single handedly dragged the title through the mud for year. Good riddance is my point.davie wrote:Why?caldo2025 wrote:This is the best news i've heard in a long time. Let's keep Wlad as far away from those belts as possible. This is super.

Re: Fury going to duck Klitchko
fury has no reason to duck wlad, he would beat him even more convincingly in the rematch
