I went to semi pro prizefighter style show 18months ago and there was a current pro on there fighting under a different surname! Also on the show was Gary "Bodysnatcher" Reid (retired pro) another current pro and a young lad who got to the final and has since gone pro!

The show after Gary Reid vs Brendan Urqhuart i guess ? I think it was you i was talking to beforehand about that fight.
Brendan really has been a frustrating one, that fight was supposed to be his last before pro, had plenty of offers, but went off the radar following that fight, only boxed once more after it and then basically disapeared for a year. came back had 2 fights against very high standard lads with only around a month in the gym (leisure centre not a boxing gym) against my advice as i thought he should have took a couple of easy ones first... and hes now vanished again.
If he was still how he was when he boxed Gary id be taking him with me on the MBC route without doubt, but unfortunately i think theres something missing in his mentality, may end up never boxing again which is a shame as he would have been fun to watch for neutrals at the very least.

At least 4 gone pro from the Murry Camp which was a pretty high quality semi pro / unlicensed gym. Tom Murry, Paul Haines, Jordan Thompson and James Higgy, the Burtons used to do a bit of sparring there as well.

i knew i remembered reading it in Shaws book, but also from memory I'm sure Roy said that Stander was easily the best fighter he faced and he only won because Ron was fighting with one arm..or something like that, i know that is contrary to the news report above.
