Chudinov on points again probably more comfortable this time around. Sturm has been on the slide for a while now and busy fighters like Chudinov will always give him problems. Chudinov will probably win most rounds on work rate alone. Sturm likes to try and steal rounds by coming out his shell for the last 30-40 seconds. I'm sure Chudinov will be wise to that tactic.

I don't really understand why this fight has been made. Chudinov went on to defend against Buglioni since the last fight, and Sturm has sat on his backside doing nothing, so why has he got a title shot? He also hasn't won any of his last three fights.

Sturm has big financial backing in Germany. Must've made Chudinov a good offer. Not sure what the score is with mandatories for this belt.

LOL at a rematch being ordered. Chudinov clearly won the fight (the card for Sturm was disgraceful) and Sturm has done nothing since.

The WBA love them some Adnan.

Fedor Chudinov vs Felix Sturm 2

Post by handsofstone »

Another rematch from Germany that really doesnt need to happen,im still struggling to see how 1 judge had Sturm winning the 1st fight 116-112,i had Chudinov winning by the same margin,Fedor coming off the domination over Buglioni in which he was put down after the bell from a pretty big shot although he didnt seem too hurt from memory, some might criticise Fedor for not getting Frank out of there but Buglioni was as brave as they come that night and refused to fold

Felix still shows glimpses of quality but is far too lazy to win rounds these days, still only likes to work last 30 seconds of the round, another Chudinov decision win surely, probably even wider

Hard for me to think of other mandated rematches that were less justifiably ordered.

Aside from Chudinov winning last time they fought. Sturm is 0-2-1 in his last 3 fights.

Many styles of fighter fight on beyond their best.
But when you are the type fighter that does just enough to win rounds and wins just enough rounds to win fights.
When you get to the point where you are no longer doing enough to win either, It's time to call it a day really

hopefully Warren can get Jamie Cox a shot at Sturm, failing that DeGale, Groves and Smith should all be targeting him, hes there for the taking.
Murray vs. Chudinov next...
