Gallagher is lacking a heavyweight to his stable ain't he. Think Coldwell is a good shout tho, if he can string a few wins together i'm sure he can get a big british fight.

I don't think Price's career is over, but in order for him to go on in the right direction he needs to do a few things;

1. He needs a trainer which is going to take him forward, improve his technique, employ some actual tactics, and nurture him. He has not adapted to the step up in quality of opposition, and has tried to continue in the same vein of knocking them out with his good punching power, thus exposing his chin, which has resulted in comprehensive knockouts.

2. He needs a couple of low key bouts, in quick succession. He needs to drastically raise his confidence, try out a new game plan, get behind a solid jab, get his feet moving, go some rounds. There's absolutely no point in blowing a few bums out. He needs to build a strong platform that he can carry into bigger fights.

3. He needs to pick his fights and climb back up the rankings again, through domestic and EBU level, and providing he comes through all that with flying colours, then, and only then should he consider world level.

The problem is his chin, so he needs to find a way to protect it at all costs. But even then, when he reaches a high level, he is going to get punched. I think he may be limited to EBU level, as a whole package. I most certainly do not think sticking him in with Chisora, Joshua or Haye at this moment would be a wise move. A quick blow out would destroy what little confidence he has left, and essentially result in him retiring. I don't believe he would ever reach the levels of the likes of Joshua or Haye, but if he can work up to a higher level, then maybe it'll happen, but I'd be surprised if it did.

Oh and 4. Don't get in the ring with any more drug cheats!

I understand what you are saying mate, but to be fair Price is a 34 year old man who has been a full-time boxer for 15 years, training with the best coaches (both amateur and pro) - if he hasn't got his technique sorted now then he never will.

Regarding points 2 and 3 - that is what he has done already, the problem being that when he steps out of his comfort zone and faces an opponent that might have a chance of winning he falls apart, goes all stiff, uses a massive amount of nervous energy and gets knocked out.

I agree that his biggest problem is his chin - you know it, I know it, his potential opponents know it and most importantly he knows it too.

A year ago we were all talking about a fight with Tyson Fury and today I would back Hughie to beat him (and for me, Hughie looks like a novice who has been in the gym a few months - but he would not shy away from a row and he would hit Price back, which is where the problems start).

The UK scene is shaping up nicely this year.

If i was Price i'd come back here, have two small hall low-key ko's over AJ Carter and then Richard Towers.

Then he'd be in the mix for a domestic superfight with anyone from Haye, Joshua, Hughie Fury.

Haye would be a one round fight ,and at this stage fights with the other 2 are nothing more than good lower undercard fights. I admire your thinking though i think haye excluded this is the way to go.

Been out the country but I saw a piece in last week's Mail saying how both Tony Thompson and some other guy that knocked him out BOTH failed drugs tests. What a load of horse sh*t if that's true.
Tbh I think it was more Thompson's experience and .... well....experience that did for Price - but, how do we know that Thompson was even able to get into fighting shape without the drugs?........ the other bloke sounds like a right cheating German c*nt too.

Good luck to him though. My only criticism is there's far too much faffing about. If he just got on with it he could be 4-0 on the comeback trail by now. Stop thinking, planning and analysing, and just get back in the ring and start winning again. It's not rocket science.
