Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
After Ward looks completely sluggish against Barrera all bets will be off. I hope it does happen though. "If he dies, he dies."
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Won't sell worth a damn as a PPV, but it's a good fight
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Ward is a bitch.
I don't care if he fights Kovalev. He flushed 4 years of his prime down the pooper.
Ward is a clown.

Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Is it far enough away? Plenty of time for Ward to get injured.

Yep I agree completely. A true weirdo.Horse wrote:Ward is a bitch.

Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
kovalev will beat ward all about the place
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
They better stack that undercard because this won't be close to GGG-lemuiex numbers. I'm thinking well under 100k buys.

Ward was a big deal 4 years ago.jockpunk wrote:They better stack that undercard because this won't be close to GGG-lemuiex numbers. I'm thinking well under 100k buys.
Right now, he's just some old timer coming back from retirement for his beating.
Washed up and forgotten.

Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Ward needs to get past Barrera first which I doubt will be easy.
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Well ward has some solid accomplishments under his belt already and now at 31 he has a chance to prove lasting greatness ... against a truly monsterous and frightening opponent ... great matchupHorse wrote:Ward is a bitch.

Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
I'm not a big fan of Ward, but think he beats Kovalev in a close fight.
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Ward is "washed up" at 31. You can't find this type of expertise anywhere else!
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
... or sue his promoter/HBO/U.S. Government/etc.JCS wrote:Is it far enough away? Plenty of time for Ward to get injured.

Tired old has-been.
Let this tired old man be left in the wash bin of history.
No passion, no desire. Bugger off into the history books, you sorry old git.

Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Exactly what I am saying. Plenty of time to never fight Krusher. I am still disturbed that Stevenson Kovalev had a chance to happen to my understanding but did not.JCS wrote:Is it far enough away? Plenty of time for Ward to get injured.
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Bugger off? Ha, what a surprise, another America-hating jagoff. No way an American says "bugger off".Horse wrote:And a bum.diddy wrote:Ward is "washed up" at 31. You can't find this type of expertise anywhere else!

Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
It's no real surprise alot of american posters have left this board over the years to post elsewhere. You cant even have rational boxing talk here for the most part. A bunch of emotional little girls blinded by bias and hatred. It's like middle school.
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
I wouldn't say he was washed up, but you do wonder what he's been doing for the last few years. At the start of 2012 he was one of the top guys in the sport with the world at his feet, his career since has been a disappointment. I hope this fight gets made and I hope it's a sign of things to come, 31 isn't washed up these days, especially for a fighter as technically gifted as Ward, but one top fight hopefully won't lead to another few years in the wilderness.
Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
I expect better knowledge here. What do you mean what was he doing? He was in a contractual lawsuit with Goosen. He wasnt allowed to fight. It wasnt his choice. He's a true professional, you think he didnt keep himself in pristine condition the last couple yrs via cardio and advanced sparring? All accounts were he lived in the gym the whole time. Did he look at all different in his last fight? Looked like the same sharp guy to me. Yeah Smith sucks but Ward was clearly toying with him, getting rounds in and kicking off rust. Looked just as smooth and excellent against Edwin Rod, who's a decent fighter. The notion a true craftsman who's always in top shape would be shot at age 31 is borderline retarded. If it's not retarded it's trolling or sheer bias. It's dumb. Bring more than this to the table, people.SNG wrote:I wouldn't say he was washed up, but you do wonder what he's been doing for the last few years. Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
No doubt November seems like a long way off as I was hoping for sometime during the first 6 months of 2016, Can't disagree that Ward has been almost a non starter for the last few years which has without question damaged his reputation.
That said I would very much would like to see the fight should both boxers come through relatively unscathed in any bouts between now and then.
It's a great opportunity for Kovalev to cement his name at the top of the pound for pound rankings and who knows even grab the coveted No 1 spot should he win.

Re: Kovalev-Ward Nov 19 HBO PPV
Have to add that I think there's the possibility that Andre just wants to collect a couple of decent paydays and get out of the sport in 1 piece much like his buddy Marshawn Lynch recently did in the NFL.
