he wasn't taking the piss the first time he said it though, because he got laughed at so much after it, he's ran with it .Counter-puncher wrote:yup, when he said that on the radio, with the '80,000 at wembley stadium', he said 'I don't know if you heard that one before', he's clearly enjoying himself with the running gag.palooka wrote:He's got a dry sense of humour, I didn't really take to him before - I think I took him too literally, he's a wind up merchant extraordinare.
Also hate how anybody with a bit of success in one famous field wants to jump into being a movie star, just because it's the most glamorous, world class acting takes world class talent, Cara Delevigne can't act her own age but because of her connections she's getting cast in everything, while there are thousands of actually talented actors and actresses out there who work their arses off every day in shitty jobs scraping a living til the next small gig comes along before they get that big break so very few of them ever get.
There's a reason they gave Dave Batista a role in Bond that literally had ONE word in his script
How did acting turn out for David Haye?

Re: Froch is surely taking the piss now
I was watching Jeremy Kyle yesterday and he said without any irony whatsoever that he had more friends and was a much better father than the man on stage and he topped it off by saying he was massively successful. It was awful.Counter-puncher wrote:yup, when he said that on the radio, with the '80,000 at wembley stadium', he said 'I don't know if you heard that one before', he's clearly enjoying himself with the running gag.palooka wrote:He's got a dry sense of humour, I didn't really take to him before - I think I took him too literally, he's a wind up merchant extraordinare.

She was pregnant at the time and as soon as Kyle came out he went straight up to her and said 'stand up young lady for a second. Do you know who the father is??' Yes of course she replied.
'Do you want a paternity test doing? No? Ok - everyone give this lovely young lady a round of applause for knowing who the father is!'
Apparently he was having a craic with the whole audience, saying what a fantastic bunch of inbred degenerates he had lined up for the show

He admitted sleeping with some bird in his car but funnily enough my lass's sister had bought the car from him shortly before the show was aired and had to give it a proper scrub down and that was before she knew it was covered in his.....

One lad I knew on it admitted to going to a brothel but said he had only gone for a game of pool. Jeremy mocked him saying they don't have pool tables in brothels. The production team checked it out, and they did. I asked the guy why he didn't give Jeremy some stick back and he said he did, loads, but it all got edited out.

I agree, I'm always a little dubious when I see a trailer for a big budget movie with someone like Justin Timberlake in a starring role, obviously the filmmakers favour name value over acting ability.GreenLightning wrote:he wasn't taking the piss the first time he said it though, because he got laughed at so much after it, he's ran with it .Counter-puncher wrote:yup, when he said that on the radio, with the '80,000 at wembley stadium', he said 'I don't know if you heard that one before', he's clearly enjoying himself with the running gag.palooka wrote:He's got a dry sense of humour, I didn't really take to him before - I think I took him too literally, he's a wind up merchant extraordinare.

I don't imagine Froch believes he is the next Daniel Day-Lewis, he will probably be looking more at Vinnie Jones type roles.

Re: Froch is surely taking the piss now
Froch is a funny guy. Some drunk guy kept bothering him at a fight recently. He wanted a photo but wasn’t going about it the right way. Froch eventually agreed to do a selfie, the guy passed him the phone so Froch sneakily switched it off then said “You’ve ran out of battery, mate—I’m gutted.”
He is really difficult to pin down for an interview, though. I’ve grabbed him a handful of times and every experience has been a bit different. The last time I tried he seemed really amiable, saying “Yeah, I know who you are, I can actually picture what you look like and like your stuff.” I thought I was in so asked if he would do an interview and he said “Nah”. Cue awkward silence. A few writers have experienced the same thing and go on rants about it, it’s just the way he is and I don’t blame him.
The longest I got with him was after Bute, I congratulated him on the win and doing his own DIY stuff, he seemed to like that and talked for 15 minutes, mostly about skirting boards.
A mate of mine is a photographer and was at one of those media day jobbies. One of the other photographers kept bossing Froch about during the shoot and elbowed my mate aside. Froch kept turning towards my mate for photos and kept winking at him, which apparently caused no end of grief amongst the other snappers, especially when my mate’s daughter snagged a photo with Froch.

What kind of people were around Froch, did you get the impression he was being well advised about dealing with the media?

I reckon old Frochy would make a good villain - he's got the right look for it. He's certainly got the physicality.
Jason Statham has made an entire career out of doing so, and he couldn't act his way through a revolving door. I watched revolver the other night, and I was hooting with laughter at some points at both the terrible cod psychology and his acting. It was actually unintentionally hilarious.

Loads of people have, Schwarzenneger, Van Damme, Seagal etc. it's all about picking the right role and knowing that the only films you're going to excel in are over the top action films.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I reckon old Frochy would make a good villain - he's got the right look for it. I think people forget sportsmen are human beings, a couple of years ago I was on the piss with a few lads including Michael Dunlop the motorbike racer and every fornicator is asking him about bikes, he just wanted to get drunk, play pool and talk about tits not waffle on about his job.Metal Fingers wrote:Froch is a funny guy.
