Lebedev-Ramirez unification; Drozd-Makabu
A Lebedev-Ramirez unification has been announced for April 30th in Moscow. Drozd-Makabu is on BoxRec's schedule for April 8th in the same location, though I can't find confirmation that it's on.

The only real problem with the cruiserweight division in recent years has been the lack of unifications and now we're getting one.crusader wrote:A Lebedev-Ramirez unification has been announced for April 30th in Moscow. good news for the CW division

Re: Lebedev-Ramirez unification; Drozd-Makabu
The truth is that this is one division where these matches can and will happen? Do you know why? It is devoid of Americans and North Americans. That is just the truth. If you had North Americans involved it would be like all other divisions with a bunch of excuses why the fights could not happen. That is the state of boxing today and that is the truth.

Good fight, Lebedev too strong, plus Ramirez was awful against McKenzie. Even if he does improve he won't get decision in Russia.crusader wrote:A Lebedev-Ramirez unification has been announced for April 30th in Moscow. The only good unification fight at CW is Drozd vs Lebedev. Call me when they get the balls to fight each other.

All of the unification combinations are good.klitoris wrote:The only good unification fight at CW is Drozd vs Lebedev. Call me when they get the balls to fight each other.

Officiating has been fair in Russia. I can't think of a single robbery there. Can you HONESTLY say you've ever seen one?TBEwasLangford wrote:Good fight, Lebedev too strong, plus Ramirez was awful against McKenzie. Even if he does improve he won't get decision in Russia.
I'd be more concerned about officiating in Argentina, USA, the UK or even here in Canada.

Re: Lebedev-Ramirez unification; Drozd-Makabu
Here is an article where Rybinski openly talks of installing a Russian fighter at each title and not unifying them. What's changed since then is that some of his stable have taken losses before it could happen so there was a change of plan. The truth is that this is one division where these matches can and will happen? 2 great fights.
Hopefully it sets up a Lebedev-Drozd fight in the summer.

Ya, Ramirez looked poor against McKenzie, but earlier in the year he looked better in scoring a clear win over Afolabi, so hopefully he's back on that form and puts up a good fight.TBEwasLangford wrote:Good fight, Lebedev too strong, plus Ramirez was awful against McKenzie. Also Glowacki-Cunningham I reckon is a decent fight. Cunningham could still be good at Cruiser.
The cruiser division has all belts on the line in competitive fights in the next couple of months.
Turning into a absolutely cracking division.
