For those of you who have not stumbled across the thread, the fight was picked this week to mark the recent passing of Walter McGowan, one of Britains Flyweight legends.

McGowan v Burruni
1. McGowan - comfortable and in control. Burruni with some ambitious looking hooks
2. McGowan - faster and more accurate with straight punches. Burruni lunging at times
3. McGowan - Moving well making Burruni miss and still controlling it. Burruni with 2 cuts, if this keeps up for 15 rounds he'll look braw at the end
4. McGowan - Closer round, Burruni with a bit more success and feel like I should give him something but not enough to take it from McGowan
5. Burruni - similar input to last round, still missing a bit but did enough, McGowan was quiet
6. McGowan - Another close round. McGowan occasionally effective springing into range (something Burruni is consistently failing to do throughout)
7. McGowan - Cut's over both eyes for Burruni, not looking good for him
8. McGowan - None of these rounds are beatings but it's getting very one sided. Not impressed with Burruni
9. McGowan - good round from Walter
10. McGowan - Still quicker to the punch and outboxing the Italian
11.McGowan - starting to look easy and McGowan getting a bit more ambitious with big punches. He could pick the pace up however
12. Mcgowan - Beating his man to the punch, Even when Burruni lands, McGowan lets a couple go to end the exchance
13. McGowan - holding the centre of the ring and pushing his man back now.
14. McGowan - Fairly one sided stuff now, Burruni's face looking a mess, even in grainy black and wjite
15. McGowan - don't think I'll ever see a Scottish fighter win a title more comfortably. Came away bleeding but quite comfortably the better fighter

Wasn't overly impressed with Burruni. Early on I thought his jerky upper body movement might make him quite hard to hit and hard to look good against but McGowan was accurate and managed to find the target often enough. I also thought his wide swinging hooking style might prove dangerous as the fight wore on and McGowan maybe started making mistakes, but McGowan consistently made him miss all fight

Thanks. A great display.

Didn't score it but a wide wide margin for me. Was that a knockdown in the middle rounds?

Learning lots from this challenge. Still need to do week 7.

Been busy last week or so just finally got round to watching this,it wasnt a great fight if im honest but it was a dominant performance from McGowan,he kept it simple, lots of movement with the occasional left hooks and right hands befuddling the ageing Burruni who looked jagged from the start and never got into it,watching it its hard to believe Salvitore beat Walter in the 1st fight such was the ease that this win was,i had it 148-138 by the end although some rounds were cut short

Great night for Scottish boxing

A lot of the rounds' length were cut short, so it's very difficult to score this fight fairly.

What's with the crap sound alignment? People from the past seem to be grossly incompetent.

Am I the only one who dislikes Harry Carpenter's commentary? I think he talks a load of rubbish.

148-137 using modern scoring for me.

Burrini was wild throughout.

McGowan controlled distance very well and had a great jab in this fight.

Hate to take this thread off topic but I spent a lot of the fight thinking about Roman Gonzalez. In the grand scheme of things he's destined to be one of the best flyweights ever surely.
