Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
No disrespect meant to either fighter or the people of Belfast or Manchester but what with the bitterness that seems to be surrounding Quigg Frampton does anyone think that there might be some aggro amongst the fans on Saturday night?
Toss in the fact that there's a MASSIVE derby game that day between Wigan & Bury that day so that's another 50,000 drunk football fans in the area. Or maybe 5,000. One or the other.
Which reminds me that I once met a transvestite bouncer from Greater Manchester. He had a Wigan address.

I know about fifteen going, some extremely handy lads, and none would cause trouble. Funnily enough, guys I know who would carry on if they were there are all useless!

Are you being sarcastic with describing Wigan v Bury as massive?

. It could kick off , but who knows , only seems to happen when one group have the upper hand , being a lot of irish coming over , chance are a lot of the local gypsies will be with them plus there a huge amount of irish ancestry in Manchester , I can certainly see a lot of alchahol and banter going on , wether it turns nasty well , it is a boxing match anything can happen .. Just like to see any arsholes picking on the weaker , get smashed and would'nt care which set of fans smashes them .
Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
Well I'm going with a mate whos routing for Quigg and I'm routing for Frampton. We've got a £100 bet on it, so if Quigg wins yeah I'm defo gonna drop the prick!
Nah in all seriousness I dare say there will be a few scuffles around (as is quite normal with a gathering of that size) but can't see any sort of large scale trouble.

100 quide with your mate is the best kind of bet.. If you lose , give him the 100 quid ,, hide your money in your sock , and tell him your skint the rest of the nights on him .ste1983 wrote:Well I'm going with a mate whos routing for Quigg and I'm routing for Frampton. Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
If it kicks off it will be because there will be a load of boozed up blokes about. It won't have anything to do with fans of either fighter, mainly because Quigg hasn't got any!!
I don't see anything out of the ordinary happening

Deffo potential for trouble - it is Manchester after all!

There is always a punch up there, guaranteed.MacTavish wrote:Deffo potential for trouble - it is Manchester after all!

If Frampton goes early there will probably be carnage.

Good point. If either fighter goes early there could be hassle.Loftgroov wrote:If Frampton goes early there will probably be carnage.
But there will be none.
Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
All it takes is one drunk twat with a he-man complex to start so there's potential there! Hopefully it passes without incident. Weigh in looked a good atmosphere.
Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
Only seen it with no sound. Was it pro Frampton?Stuarty30 wrote:All it takes is one drunk twat with a he-man complex to start so there's potential there! Hopefully it passes without incident. Weigh in looked a good atmosphere.
Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
I thought it was mate but Quigg seemed to think it was more for him in his interview afterwards so maybe I am bias? Seemed a bit more boisterous when Frampton walked onto the stage.danamba7 wrote:Only seen it with no sound. Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
I was at the weigh in, it seemed pro Quigg by far to me!
Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
Sounded like it, Quigg had some support in there but he got booed, big roar for Frampton in comparison. Hearn even paid the fornicating band to turn up and give Quigg some extra support.danamba7 wrote:Only seen it with no sound. It will kick off in patches. I can't recall being at a show where it doesn't. That said, it's all quite easily avoidable. I cheered Quigg today at the weigh in surrounded by Irish fans to all sides. A bit of "Banter" back and forth and all good. Just don't be a dick or you'll deservedly get smacked.

Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
Yeah it will. Furys cousins on undercard, a fair few fans will be hammered by the time the main event starts, Hearn, Gallagher and mcguigans acting like children its gonna kick off!

Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
I hope not, got a relative who works security there, not paid enough for that BS.
Re: Will It Kick Off on Saturday?
Certainly hope not. No excuse whatsoever for moronic behaviour like that. Good luck to both boxers, indeed all the lads that are on the show

Irish renowned for making a lot of noise in support, no? Thought they prided themselves on it. I think when that Irish girl boxed at the last Olympics decibel records were broken in the hall apparently.
Went there once. Our fighter got the W, albeit the opponent was from over the border in Ireland. All very good natured and indeed friendly bunch.
