well to be honest, I had my first orgasm at a Backstreet Boys concert, at the climactic finish to 'I want it that way'.....

Matchroom definitely have more staff, just don't see a lot of them like John Wischhusen who's camera shy. With Cyclone everyone you see is everyone there is, I think it's basically just Barry, his missus and kids, although his daughter's an actress so I'm not sure how involved she is. Frampton's a director too so he'll know what's going on financially.G0mez wrote:dbf wrote:But Cyclone are joing promoters aren't they? Matchrooms staff have to get paid too. The promoters money is not separate to the fighters purses?G0mez wrote:Barry, Shane, Jake ? and Blain McGuigan on the Frampton entourage payroll. Then I read that McGuigan's daughter is a secretary or something too?
It must be eyewatering the expenses bill for this gig. All those flights/trains/hotels/meals coming out of Cyclone kitty.
Then again Frampton likened himself to the band U2 yesterday in the popularity stakes, so he must have billions to spend.
Why does 1 guy need all those people ? there are as many cyclone employees as matchroom employees it would seem.
But one stable has 30-40 world, Euro and British level televised fighters... and the other has basically one.
It's like running a jumbo jet with one passenger. All that staff for one guy. Whereas Matchroom has the same amount of staff but an endless list of fighters - so the annual staff bill is evenly distributed across numerous events, rather than just one or two fighter's purses.
Most fighters pay their trainer, their spars and any associated meals/flights and that's it. Some have a separate manager/ agent on top. But I fear Frampton's income is running a whole company - because I dont see any other cyclone fighter tipping in large amounts of money.
Maybe I dont have all the facts, maybe they have business on the side and it's a part-time thing with Carl? who knows.

I could not believe that was genuine so just watched two IFL clips, one from yesterday and one from today. Quigg looks totally dehydrated, he must have had a major weight issue in the final week and not taken on fluid of food in the last day for that change in appearance. Blair McG mentioned yesterday that Quigg may have problems with no experience of the 10% (or is it 10lb) second day weigh in rule with the IBF. With 30 odd hours between the fight and the weigh in, I would not normally think how drained he looks would be an issue, but not being able to fully re-hydrate could be his undoing here.
I dislike Barry McGuigan and Eddie Hearn and so my preference comes down to them over the fighters and I hate that smarmy cnt Hearn more so hope Frampton smashes him and shuts up Fast Car and that other prick Gallagher

Interesting points made by Spencer Oliver and Dave Coldwell in this video about Frampton's method of making weight this week.
Onlookers believe he's been close to the weight limit for the majority of the week.
Spencer talks about crashing the weight, and also being low for days near the weight - and says the latter was more detrimental to him. Coldwell surmises that if this is a new approach for Frampton, that he's not going to know how his body is going to react.

I'm with you there.
Also Quigg looks terrible in that picture, he's got the bobble-head going on, never a good sign. Mike Alvarado had a bad case of the bobble head before he got smashed up by Provodnikov.
Being dehydrated like that must give you one motherfker of a headache.

Quigg's going to struggle with the 10lb limit tomorrow, he's clearly taken a lot of weight off. Paul Butler's been saying on twitter that he had to really watch what he was eating and drinking to avoid going over and he isn't big at the weight like Quigg is.tobyh5 wrote:expe wrote:Quigg at the weigh in today and press conference yesterday.

I much prefer the 'who's got the biggest problem at the weight?' game to the 'who won the mindgames?' game

That photo has made me a bit more cautious, but I'm still edging towards Quigg.

I've had £50 on Quigg by KO. Will spend the winnings on a few pints of banterjuice. ![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

1. The McGuigans and Frampton come across as arrogant and slightly nasty / bullying. I live in Battersea so have seen that lot a lot. Frampton was always a bit aloof, swaggering down the street with his small body trying to not to be unbalanced by the enormous swede he has resting on his neck.
Shane McGugan who I spoke to several times, comes across as very decent, even shy. Maybe it's all gone to his head a bit.
Barry i have met several times and has always been unfriendly and a bit of a tool
2. Both fighters looked drained, but Quigg looked like a different person.... He genuinely looked like a concentration camp victim. So Gaunt.
3. Fast, gay and Camp Eddie Hearns (sic) looks like an oversized, aged, teenage groupie, waving his hands, clapping and acting unprofessionally.
My takeaway is this - simply that I soooooo hope Quigg wins. He seems a more gentle, earthy guy. Frampton just come as a big headed (literal and metaphorical) bully...
What will happen - I always thought Frampton had this until their contrasting last fights.... I think it's a genuine 50/50 fight now. No idea who wins. But I hope Quigg!
Yeah, them gentle, earthy guys always make great boxers

Was at the weigh in today. Miles away so didn't see a great deal of "action". Seemed a bit of pushing and shoving in the entourages beforehand but overall quite well conducted.
Main takeaway however was the fans. Felt like an alien in my own town with so many Irish there, and noisy as hell too.
I doubted it, but Frampton might have been on to something atmosphere-wise.
