I always thought you went Area English British and further like a set of steps on the way UP, but it seems these days some boxers come back down them. Not knocking Booth.....didn't know he was still at it tbh. In was in my favourite coupla boxers a few years ago.

Btw, excuse my ignorance but is the English title a relatively new concept i.e. last 10-12 yrs or so.....I'm aware the likes of Tom Cribb were Champion of England 200yrs ago but I would assume the British title succeeded that.....in the modern, post-war era I mean, did the ET get re-introduced? (If anybody knows )

Bolsover's Gavin Down won the inaugural BBBofC English title (light-welterweight) at Norwich Sports Village in October 2002, Newmarket's Daniel James retiring at the end of the 5th round.
Just nine days previously, promoter Pat Brogan had billed a bout at Kings Hall, Stoke between Coventry's Gareth Payne and Watford's Jamie Yelland as being for the inaugural English bantamweight title but the BBBofC blocked any such use of that title just hours before the show began.
There have been 166 English titles contested to date.

What about International/Intercontinental etc those are pretty smart, pick up one of those and you can totally bypass all the above and end up fighting for a WORLD title?

True but for example Mitchell smith had the wbo European title that gave him a top 10 ranking. But in truth he has only boxed at English title level. Is he ready for a World Title shot no. The whole point of the levels area English British and so on is to progress so when u do get to your next level your ready and capable of winning.

I thought Chris Keane was coming back on this show? Hope he's recovered from injury, looked decent when I saw him on tv a while ago, and the division is fairly open domestically.

He slightly hurt his bad bicep whilst sparring Jamie cox last week, we rested it but he wasn't able to fight we decided on Thursday, he wanted to still fight but he can't afford no more slip ups so we took the decision out of his hands, when he comes back nothing but 100% will be good enough, unlike before, we've made them mistakes already mate, he hopefully will be ok in next couple weeks to start light punching and then all being well should be on show end of April, beginning of May.
