Nice! These are the kinds of fights we need this year. Keep them coming and jam up the schedule with intriguing matchups The schedule is basically an empty canvas right now. 2016 could still be made into a masterpiece, it's not too late

Great fight, hope it gets made.
I see Lomachenko winning this on points, but it's far from a foregone conclusion, the Axe-man is a dangerous proposition for anyone.

Has Walters made a great record by fighting smaller guys? Donaire and Darchinyan were definitely smaller men, but don't know if that is only the case with regard to his biggest name wins.

It was discussed last year but the Russian said "nyet."

Arum may have been just babbling.

I guess if you are 84, babbling is normal, and accepted. :TU:
Don King is the same age.

Does he babble? Or is it impossible to tell because he's always rambled on and on. Even when he was young.

I haven't seen any real truth to this although I know it was in negotiations. It's hard to believe anything out of Arum's trap. Please provide a link with the facts.

Great fight if it happens, I'd be picking Lomachenko.

Lol this fight won't happen. Walters will duck and run away & sign wth Haymon. Walters is in it for the money. Walters knows that Lomachenko will make him look like a journeyman featherweight, so this isn't happening.

Rafael just tweeted:

I'm at weigh-in with Arum. He paused for call from Walters. They agreed 130 for VLomm. 4/30 NY or Chicago. TV TBA. Also have to agree on $

What else should a professional prizefighter be "in it" for? :brick:

I like to refer to them as boxers and/or fighters before using either of these 2 terms, because that's what I consider them to be, first and foremost.
Sportsmen and warriors, people who want to fight, want to win, want to be recognised for their achievements in the sport, be world champions and then, if you happen to get fairly wealthy in the process, that's a happy coincidence.

Then again I maybe live in cloud cuckoo land where these things matter

The word "professional" suggests money is the key. In order to become a top level "professional" some of that other stuff is nearly always essential.
