Official Frampton - Quigg RBR/Discussion Thread

No interview with Fast Eddie.....
I guess he's off counting his cash. Should be wearing a mask after that card.

Fvck knows mate. Lives at home with his mam. Never been to a live boxing event. Doesn't subscribe to Box N4tion. Is never wrong. Must have his ducks in a row. On the autistic spectrum. Never been laid. Has no girlfriend. Hates me.stevedoc wrote:What is wrong with this horse...keithmoonhangover wrote:Justice is served. No way in the world Quigg won that fight. 116-112 by anyone who knows how to score a boxing contest.

Saunders-Eubank Jr debate all over again.Taansend wrote:Of course, the counter argument to this is that by forcing things earlier Quigg would open himself up to counters & not have the strength or energy later on to close the show.Loftgroov wrote:I cant see a rematch here. Frampton probably knows he'd lose it - Quigg wouldn't eff up the same way again and would stick his foot on the gas much earlier. The McGuigans also wouldn't risk losing the bragging rights.
Quigg started very slow & came on later but that doesn't automatically equate to him winning if he starts fast in a rematch.

It's a fair point. Perhaps both fighters were actually struggling with the weight after all & it affected both of their tactics more than we realise at the moment?Taansend wrote:Of course, the counter argument to this is that by forcing things earlier Quigg would open himself up to counters & not have the strength or energy later on to close the show.Loftgroov wrote:I cant see a rematch here. Re: Official Frampton - Quigg RBR/Discussion Thread
Both are perfectly valid points. If I'm Frampton I wouldnt bother with the rematch, it's not his fault that Quigg fvcked up his tactics. There are good fights out there at SBW or FW for Frampton, he doesnt gain much from the rematch. Also, it wouldnt be an easy sell, pretty crap fight for a PPV.Taansend wrote:Of course, the counter argument to this is that by forcing things earlier Quigg would open himself up to counters & not have the strength or energy later on to close the show.Loftgroov wrote:I cant see a rematch here. I start out liking everyone and it's their job to fvck it up. He acts like a child mate. Can't be doing with it. Don't enjoy coming on here any more. Some of the people on here are really cool, you included. But it's the loons mate. Can't be arsed mate.jameswilson wrote:Apart from that you quite like him tho.keithmoonhangover wrote:

Even now that's out of the way, neither of them will go anywhere near Rigo.
Re: Official Frampton - Quigg RBR/Discussion Thread
Gallagher said to him at the end of the 4th or 5th "your boxing well" for the life of me what was he watching. No doubt Frampton won but when Quigg upped the pace he was on top and although we will never know but if he shares the first six rounds, he wins the fight.
Scott basically gave away the first three rounds to a guy who landed about 10 punches in total, that is absolutely unforgiveable in any fight let alone a World title unification.

Right man won. Thought Frampton should have gone for it in those early rounds when Quigg looked like he had frozen on the big stage. The rounds Quigg won he won bigger but 116-112 was about right. Sky commentary was terrible, you could almost tell they were being fed lines.

Re: Official Frampton - Quigg RBR/Discussion Thread
If it's the right deal, I think they both will. Quigg has got nowt to lose now. He might as well fight Rigo. Although, if he throws away the first seven rounds, by throwing hardly any punches, he's gonna struggle. If he fights like that, he needs a knockdown to draw. Joe Gallagher reminded me of the Petronellis in Hagler's corner for the Leonard fight. Gallagher should have been telling Quigg to not stop punching until he knocked Frampton out. What would Manny Stewart have done? What would Angie Dundee done? Eddie Futch?Boxerbeetle wrote:Even now that's out of the way, neither of them will go anywhere near Rigo.

I have to mute it after a while. Wish you could have a crowd noise only option like to hear the crowd and take in the atmosphere but hate the bull shit they come out with on skydbf wrote:Right man won. Another disappointing night of boxing after all the hype. I'm going to bed to sulk, at least I'll be able to watch Crawford do his thing when I wake up tomorrow morning.
If I ever mention buying another Sky PPV, please remind me to get a CAT scan.
