Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
I dont see Frampton beating Rigo with that performance. Still it is time for him to challenge the best and take a loss if he is not good enough.
Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
He should fight Rigondeaux.

Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Barry mentioned a couple of names after the fight during the interview in the radio, Rigo wasn't one of them though. I don't think they want anything to do with him.Horse wrote:He should fight Rigondeaux.

Fight Shingo Wake and get KO'd.

After that performance, I'm not surprised.Nightmare Roy wrote:Barry mentioned a couple of names after the fight during the interview in the radio, Rigo wasn't one of them though. I don't think they want anything to do with him.
Frampton came out of that looking worse than Quigg to me.
Quigg should go after Rigondeaux if Frampton avoids him.
Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
What is Gavin McDonnell doing in that list.

Didn't even notice that.
Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Scott Quigg 2 would probably be the biggest money fight out there for him. I'd personally like to see him fight Rigo, but I doubt that happens

Eddie Hearn: "If we can het a fight [rematch] that are 12 rounds like the last five rounds then we'll be very happy."

If Quigg won I wouldn't put it past Hearn but I can't see any chance of it with Frampton.wesshaw1985 wrote:I was thinking Brook vs. Gavin.expe wrote:What is Gavin McDonnell doing in that list.

Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Rigo. Fight him in the summer at Windsor Park.
Framptons fans don't give a toss how boring tonight was (for the most part). Carl is in his 30th year so they need to make big fight for him rather than ponce about.
Fight Rigo (who will be almost 36) & then go up against Lee Selby At Cardiff Arms*.
* - Assuming Rigo wins then Frampton wins & Selby wins whoever he fights next

I voted McDonnell! I demand it!!

Mcguigan says the money fight is Santa Cruz, dismisses rematch. https://www.periscope.tv/w/1ynKOnaamrWxR
Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
I agree, I think Carl only has 2 or 3 fights left at the most as he won't be able to campaign against the bigger feather weights.. I hope they go for the Rigo fight or Santa Cruz. No shame in losing at the top level, especially at 30 when there's nothing left to build up, boxers seem to have forgotten that these days, too scared to lose the zero.Taansend wrote:Rigo. Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Ewenhay, I'm not sure I agree that Frampton can't compete at Feather.
I ain't saying he'd rule the division but not saying he'd automatically be bad either.

Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Obviously the right fights he'd win, but he looked much weaker than Quigg in there, particularly as it got further in.Taansend wrote:Ewenhay, I'm not sure I agree that Frampton can't compete at Feather.

Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Late on, he looked fatigued as Quigg steamed in. But he did great last round. The extra poundage might help.SNG wrote:Obviously the right fights he'd win, but he looked much weaker than Quigg in there, particularly as it got further in.Taansend wrote:Ewenhay, I'm not sure I agree that Frampton can't compete at Feather.

De La Hoya got decked (a couple of times I think) when he was a Super Feather. He stood up fine to Trinidads punches though.
This example proves NOTHING but I'm just trying to say we don't know how Frampton will be at Feather until he gets there.

You could be right, I still think he'd be competitive with most, I just have a feeling that in the big fights he would be too small and would get out muscled which would negate his best assets. I just can't see him being strong enough for Selby for example though I think Carl is a much better boxer.

Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Question, does Frampton avoid mandatories for the IBF and WBA if he fights unification fights with either Ceja (WBC) or Donaire (WBO) next?
Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
I would have agreed with you after the Gradovich fight but then I saw the Montiel 'bout'. I know Montiel is a decent fighter (in the past) but I doubt he'd be stronger or better than Frampton - who I believe would be very competitive against Selby.ewenhay wrote:Taansend wrote:Ewenhay, I'm not sure I agree that Frampton can't compete at Feather.

I watched Selby Montiel in a bar in Sarasota during the baseball playoffs. There are about 25 screens there all showing baseball & I got the barman to tune one into that bout, drawing boos from people who wanted every screen on the baseball. And then it was incredibly boring. I'm still bitter
Re: Next For Carl Frampton?
Hearn would really sulk if Haymon and Cyclone made the Selby Frampton fight. For that reason alone I'm in favour!
