Gallagher seems to love the idea of coming up with a brilliant, counterintuitive, world class gameplan.

A gamplan where you purposely give rounds away, to somehow win other rounds that you wouldn't have won if you didn't give other rounds away.

It seems like it would be pretty clever in theory, but in reality it's dumb and doesn't work at all.

Gallagher is too daft to simply ask Quigg to go out there and bully him.

Yes. Frampton won it clearly enough, although Quigg seemed the physically stronger. It's daft when trainers and coaches have massive egos and act like devising tactics for a boxing match is on a par with splitting the atom.

Quigg will end up with Tony Sims, who is a fabulous trainer and is in no way connected to Camp Eddie in any other way than boxing, honest.

I listened to the fight on the radio where they made it sound like fight of the year.
Anyway during some of the rounds they zoned in on the corner talk. After the third round Gallagher told Quigg that Frampton goes flat footed and tired after three or four rounds. Make of that advice what you will.

A decent tactician would have made sure that was the case by working him over and roughing him up.

They seemed too intent on showing Quigg could box defensively.

The last four rounds seemed like fight of the century compared to the first half a dozen.

As much as I think Gallagher is a tit one piece of advice I did hear him say ( not sure which round ) was him telling quigg 2 3 phases of attack which is bang on, frampton was fast on his feet he knew not to get involved with a fight with quigg and fight his fight, quigg needed to step in with an attack the and then again with another attack and use angles but easy said than done.

Listened to the post fight excuses.
Telling us that if it had been Mayweather not throwing punches for 6 rounds he'd have been winning the fight.

Even Flod knows you have to throw a bare minimum of one punch in a round

You can't argue with Joe Gallagher's record. His stable of fighters and the success he has achieved is amazing. But he isn't perfect and everyone makes mistakes and last night and in the build up to this he made a serious one. I believe that the accusations about Quigg being "one dimensional" led to him believing that he had to prove the critics wrong and come up with a new innovative way for Quigg to fight. It clearly did not work and in hindsight he should have got him to do what he always did. But hindsight is 20/20 and pressure and emotion affect people. Often the people who cant see the most obvious things can't see it as they are blinded by being too close to the subject.

Regardless of Quiggs gameplan or 'freezing' in the early rounds, i do think Framptons footwork and darting in and out of the pocket was superior and allowed him to rack up the rounds early.

All this tactical genius stuff is arsebollocks, in all honesty I could have given Quigg better advice through the first 6 rounds.

I agree Camp Eddie did have a point after the fight when he said Framptons clever footwork made it difficult for quigg early. To an extent quigg was merely victim of the limitations of his own slow feet, there. But I think lack of urgency was just as big a factor, personally.

Turns out Frampton was bang on in that Gloves Off show. Didnt he say that Quigg was one dimensional, has an inferior boxing brain and needs his corner to tell him exactly what to do as he cannot adjust under his own stream?

I desperately wanted Quigg to win , but in my mind it was Frampton's superior skills that won him the fight . I think if Quigg had of given his all earlier he would have gassed towards the end and if he could have done a Kiko on him ,without Gallagher's advice ,he would have done. If's , buts and maybees

I think we saw that Quigg had the chin, defence and punch selection to force the fight to Frampton and get the upper hand a lot of the time. I'm not convinced that Frampton would beat a Quigg who was prepared to do that from the offset because when he heard he was down and started forcing the fight he won a lot more rounds than Frampton and looked good.

The strategy of starting slowly and giving Frampton too much respect was not working but at the same time Quigg wasn't being hit much, if at all and it was pretty nip and tuck. An even first 6 rounds and then coming on and sweeping most of the last 6 rounds would have probably been what Quigg and Gallagher were hoping for.

Frampton is acting like he won every round in his interviews. He wasn't setting the world alight himself and was barely winning the opening 6 rounds. Then he lost the majority of the last 6.

I thought it was a below par performance from Quigg. I'm not sure how to assess Frampton though. I certainly wouldn't bet on him in a rematch.

Has that been proven? I am not aware of a proper medical diagnosis yet. It is not a broken jaw just because they keep saying it a lot of times. Things do not become fact through repetition of a lie. It MAY be broken, but that all started when Quigg said, "my jaw went" in the post fight interview and everyone seems to have just run with it
