He's a good fighter and I want him to be fighting other good fighters.

Is that really criticism?

Considering his last three opponents to be acceptable seems more disrespectful to me.

He's in the same situation as ggg. You guys that think fighters can just snap their fingers and make fights are a riot.

Why doesn't Golovkin fight Lara?

Good fights aren't as difficult to make as a lot on here say they are.

Lara is with al and in a different weight class. You should become a promoter. Easy money!

I have mentioned that he needs tougher competition, repeatedly. The criticism should be directed at those turning him down, as it overwhelmingly is in 3G's and Krusher's cases.

I can't fault any of the three for not fighting those refusing to fight.

Crawford beating these guys easily is not impressive.
He is a league above everyone outside of the elite. I think it's better him keeping sharp and building his local base and the watching public, it's far better him boxing 3 times a year than once.

Beating these guys is impressive, it keeps him sharp, focused and shows he has a good temperament. The big fights will appear for him. If he refused the fights that were there and waited for a big fight he'd be called a diva. He's clearing up, similar to Golovkin at middleweight.
+1

Not much to criticize with Crawford but he does need bigger challenges.
Tell that to Arum!!

I've had a big hardon for Crawford since I saw the way he took Ricky Burns' jab away from him, and I suspect many or most British fans have been watching for his ascent since then. I hope he starts getting good fights, whatever the politics behind it.

Who would you like to see him fight at 140? I'm not sure if you have looked, but it isn't exactly loaded with talent. Outside of postal, I can't don't see a single guy that I can say is can is really any better than the guys he has fought. Maybe provodnikov who he is supposedly fighting next.

He won't give names, just better. I think he wants Pryor, Chavez and benitez in a time machine.

Peterson, matthysse, vargas, and possibly algeri are no longer fighting at 140. I believe i have read that benavidez will not fight at 140 again but i will give you that one assuming he does. Broner is obviously a non-starter since he is with haymon and has his sights on the big showdown with theophane.

I wouldn't put herrara over jean, dulorme or even lundy.

Obviously postal is the fight we all want to see. I guess provo would be entertaining just to see how much of a beating he can take.

I don't know who troyanovsky is but I guess that would be ok since he has a belt. Still not overly more compelling than the guys he has fought.

I don't see why most of those fighters couldn't fight at 140 lbs.

They can ask.
jockpunk wrote:I wouldn't put herrara over jean, dulorme or even lundy.
You should. He beat Danny Garcia less than two years ago.

He's got a belt, so it would be nice to unify even if the guy is nothing special.

Crawford should be looking to unify the division before moving on.

Monte Barrett is stupid talk. Anyone distracted during the fight by his commentary?

Didn't catch the fight but another poster said something like Barrett is the worst commentator they've heard, though I'm not sure if he can compare to Jameel McCline and his lines about Adamek struggling with McBride's 'heavyweight speed'.

Good to remember cases like this when people suggest that someone's opinions are more valuable simply because they were a successful pro.

In one instance the main commentator said who he had winning the fight then he asked Monte. Barrett replied not in these words but with something like..'I'm not going to say cos you're not supposed to reveal who you got winning'. The commentary shut off for a brief period after that. Maybe the main commentator during that silent period was pinching himself so he wouldn't laugh.

In another instance the hot female commentator made a good point about Crawfords ability to adapt to Lundy which was the case as Crawford didn't start off too well. Then Monte who hadnt made any interesting points all night pretty much stole what she said and repeatedly mentioned that Crawford had a high IQ?? all because he adapted and fought smarter.

You had to watch it.

James Toney was really bad one time when he did a guest commentary spot on FNF one time. I think it was in the Wayne Braithwaite vs Ravea Springs fight, but basically Toney spent the whole fight talking up himself and how much better he was than both of the guys fighting.

I don't recall hearing McCline but saying that McBride's speed would be troublesome for anybody is absolutely idiotic. Dude is slow as sh*t by any standards.
