Who was at the Frampton-Quigg fight?

I was at the fight at the weekend, just wondering how many others on here were?

The atmosphere for the undercard fights was as flat as it gets but the build up and main event were pretty lively. Passionate fans but I saw no trouble whatsoever, with fans of both fighters scattered throughout the venue. All very friendly.

The toilets were a complete joke. Queues out the door for lads to use the cubicles - towards the end of the night it got so busy all of the sinks were being used as urinals and guys were even standing pissing against the walls as they waited to get into the traps. BTW - note to future cubicle users - on entry to the arena fans were routinely having their wallets and watch pockets checked by security for drugs with a load of coppers standing behind them - I didn't see anybody getting caught on my way in but I imagine there were probably quite a few - I've never seen that level of searching at any venue in London.

One thing that surprised me was a distinct lack of tricolors around the arena. I know Frampton is Northern Irish and Protestant, but there didn't seem to be much representation from the Republic and at one point we saw a small group of his fans break out into a chant of "no surrender".

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza which is where Matchroom, Team Quigg, McDonnell's, Coldwell and a few of the undercard fighters were staying. Didn't see Quigg at all but saw everybody else so presume he was there.

I was there and agree with you on most points.

Toilets were a bit of a joke, but it's a multi-use arena and most the time it's probably not 90% men there. If you plan your piss-breaks accordingly, its not too bad.

Security has been like that I'd say since the Paris bombings (I'd say). It used to be just a quick pat-down, but now quite thorough. First fight there post-Paris was Crolla-Perez II, I think, and it was even more intense then. Had to open a pack of tabs to prove what was in, every wallet compartment etc. Even explain the little plastic pendant was my key fob for work and not a drugs smuggling device.

Only time I've experienced similar was actually in London, at Wembley Stadium they've done quite lengthy checks (or maybe that's just me haha).

If you're still that way inclined through the lads in the row in front of me were doing lines of something off their hands. So can't be that stringent.

There was definitely added police presence there compared to usual, so perhaps that was what curbed any violence out-side the ring.

No trouble round where we were, which was technically the "Frampton End" but very mixed. Didn't see any out-breaks down below either or on concourses, and there's usually at least one or two. Atmosphere probably the most jovial it's been in years.

I went to the dinner thing at the Crowne Plaza beforehand, seems most of the officials and some of the fight people were staying there. Got chatting to the girl who does the shorts (she did those stupid expensive ones for Khan) and I am the wefferwee was there too.

Crolla was fairly engaging and seems like a decent bloke but the "comedian" was easily the worst I've ever experienced...just awful. I hope he quits after that night.

Atmosphere was pretty good, didn't see any aggro or fights. We intentionally missed the undercard as none of my mates are massive boxing fans and it sounds like it was the right move. Toilets were alright (for once) no queueing or rivers of piss.

The fight was a bit of an anti-climax but anyone expecting Hagler/Hearns was a bit optimistic. Had decent seats so had a good view but not entirely sure I watched the same fight a lot of people seemed to watch on stream or TV? I gave Quigg the first four rounds (could argue the 2nd was a draw) largely because he was busier and Frampton was content to jab and throw a right hand about once a minute. Quigg never really seemed to get anything sustained going and I gave the majority of the rest of the rounds to Frampton other than the 11th. He was busier in bits but a lot of it was ineffectual and whilst Frampton hit a lot of gloves and elbows I felt he was the better boxer and landed more. I'd not have been surprised with the draw but felt Frampton deserved to win.

The ten others I was with all scored it differently, so maybe it was just one of those largely drama free fights that was slightly open to interpretation.

Got some spare programs if anyone is desperate for one?

I went. Huge police presence but no trouble. Frampton fans just seemed normal lads who liked him. Not a football mentality.

How many programs u get couple lads who were with me mentioned wishing they got one after. How much?

Where I was, the toilets a joke, rivers of piss, men started using the ladies n sinks as mentioned, also they were like smoking areas too, surely more of a fire risk than letting ppl stand outside for 5 mins. Good craic were I was, lots of singing, tho police wouldn't let any flags be shown, until inside arena. Carl from a protestant area so has naturally attracted a large protestant support, the girl beside me was from Dublin, there quite a few in my hotel as well, most over to see Utd also, as for tricolour's, not a good idea just yet, the past still has open wounds

Shut out from what i seen,and also in keeping in tradition with Sky PPVs it was pretty pants

I was there and managed to sneak down to ringside for McDonnell fight and rd 1 before I was 'outed' by a sky sports techie. Regular seat I upper tier had a great view anyway and the atmosphere was a solid 8/10. No trouble all day despite being a bit of a drunken gobshite on occasion. Few 'English bastard' shouts and confusing 'German bombers/ RAF from Ulster' chants but friendly enough
