Talking of Darren McDermott, Boxing News say that he is defending his Midland Area title against Michael Monaghan at the same venue where he won his title (Dudley Town Hall). Good match

Yes it is a good match, Monaghan always comes to have a go and we will see what McDermott is made of in this fight.

McDermott passed a good test against Halder last time, but I agree Monaghan will probably test Darren that bit more. Despite his ledger Michael always brings a winning attitude to the ring, maybe even more so with the Area title on the line.

It will be a good measuring stick against local middle/light middle Macklin. He stopped Monaghan on bodyshots in Dublin. I doubt Macca will repeat the trick, but his workrate should see him through.

Good match up at this stage - no wonder, Dean Powell is his manager!
