I do nt think Conor looked intimated, if anything Diaz looked uncomfortable throughout the pressers etc. But it's a big leap up in weight.... Should be interestingImpractical Poster wrote:Nate didn't just make Conor flinch, he made him just about jump out of his pants.
Not that I think Nate wins, but it is interesting. I wonder if Conor is feeling the pressure, finally? He is supposed to win this fight. Nate is a huge underdog. Nate is a late replacement. Nate is not intimidated. Man, I hope we get an upset!

In a way this is even more interesting than the Dos Anjos fight. Nate may not be witty, but he's unbreakable mentally.

Not like he's never been KO'd though. If Josh Thomson can do it, I think McGregor should be able to.King Carlos wrote:In a way this is even more interesting than the Dos Anjos fight. Nate may not be witty, but he's unbreakable mentally.

Re: MMA thread?
It could definitely happen, but I've seen a lot more of Nate showing great chin, stamina, and heart than I've seen of him getting KO'd. That Thompson fight was the only time. I remember being blown away hearing about that result.jujigatame wrote:Not like he's never been KO'd though. I don't know if Nate can pull this off with only one week of training. I hope he does though!
Re: MMA thread?
Nate cut.... but some really egotistical sloppy fighting from Mcgregor

fornicate the UFC.
Some clown who made a name for himself by cranking on about Mayweather in every interview just got slapped around by a fat hillbilly with a double digit IQ.
Then the meat head interviewer tells him he "shook up the world". What is it with the UFCs obsession with boxing!?

Re: MMA thread?
Another skilled and gifted fighter falls victim to his own hype and his mad love for his own left hand. Everyone was poised for the finish by Mr. MegaHype and he falls victim to Nate's left hand and folds like a siamese fighting fish. Holm showed exponentially more heart. You just don't jump 25 pounds and think you can walk through the bigger man's firepower cavalierly.
So much for the fighter of the century. All hail Nate Diaz

They figured out that people prefer standup to 15 to 25 minutes of dry humping.Ricky_ wrote:eff the UFC.

Big ass day of betting upsets today. The 'baddest man on the planet' gets beaten and in boxing Browne, Funeka, Vargas, Khurtsidze, Skeete, Ffrench, and Escandion all win as dogs, while huge favorite Joey Dawejko held to a draw.

Not trying to bignote, last night I was at a party talking to some pals about the card, I was feeling pretty confident of upsets the co main and main. Especially with meishA amd holly, just felt her wrestling and strength could cause a lot of problems for holly.

Absolutely. Always nice to see a bully get knocked back to reality.... and Nate isn't even the top LW. But, good for Nate.crusader wrote:You must be very happyImpractical Poster wrote:That was beautiful.

Sidenote; last Saturday I could not find one bar in this city of about three million carrying Frampton v Quigg. Tonight there were five large bars within easy walking distance carrying the UFC card, and they were all standing room only. I was sedate through the whole card until Diaz landed that first left. I think all of the 20 something hotties sitting around the pool table covered by plywood wet there panties when I suddenly leaped to my feet howling as the fighter of the century folded like a circus tent.
The majority of the bar was in shock, literally speechless.

Re: MMA thread?
We know the weight is going to be spun non stop here in McGregors favour but let's not get it twisted, McGregor trained his whole camp for a fight at 155 after he felt he couldn't physically cut that much to get down to 145 anymore. Nate a career lightweight took the fight on just under two weeks notice, he said that he could make 155 but Dana/the UFC wanted 170(which worked out for him because then he just had to focus on a short notice fight and not a short notice weight cut) he didn't look like he cut too make weight at most he cut a couple of pounds and he came into the fight weighing probably around the same McGregor did.
McGregor leaves himself open to countering too much, Bring in Aldo V Mac 2.

Re: MMA thread?
DId McGregor usually have significant size advantages over his opposition at 145?
