NYSAC have lifted Holyfields suspension

The NYSAC's medical suspension of Evander Holyfield has been lifted and "The Real Deal" is planning to return this summer. He reaffirmed this week that he won't quit until he unifies the heavyweight titles.

What the fornicate is he on? The man is clearly dellusional. I know fighters are the last to know when to hang them up but this is beyond a joke.

He couldn't even win 1 portion of the title now let alone unfiying them!

He won't quit until he unifies? He won't quit until he gets brain damaged or worse...that sounds harsh but i am absolutely amazed by the decision of the commission and Holyfield himself to carry on.

Also Wayne McCullough has had his ban lifted , so is now looking to continue his career.
I like Wayne and he has been in some great fights, but he is the same as Holyfield to brave for his own good. Both boxers have always been involed in wars and that has taken a toll on them.

I also read in one of the boxing papers that Wayne spars 10 rounds every day, so that must also add to general wear and tear.

Although i'd like fighters like McCullough, Holyfield and Hearns to retire, If they pass the medicals and want to fight, then you can't really stop them.
If you did try and stop them just because they have lost a couple of fights, then wouldn't you also have to ban every journeyman who boxes?
They loss alot of fights in a row, many Journeymen get stopped in fights so should they box?

Its a case of double standards when they try and ban an ageing ex-champ because his skill have dwindled.

Come on not the same, McCullough is at least competitive in world class he has had 2 close-ish fights with Larios. Holyfield lost every round to Larry Donald and was TKO'd by a former middleweight!

True Holyfield did lose to a former middleweight, but Toney is a world class heavyweight as well. strange but true.

Mccullough lost every round to Harrison, he lost widely in the 1st Larios fight, although was a bit more in it in that one.
the second larios fight he lost every round until he was stopped, i've no doubt that he could have gone the distance in that one if allowed as well.

Both these boxers are the same in that they think they can still win a major version of a world title, its not going to happen.
I would love both to retire, but thats not going to happen either. shame i know.

My point is McCullough has a lot more left than Holyfield you cant really compare the two. McCullough has only ever lost to world champions, Holyfield is nothing more than a punching bag now.

I guess it comes down to what level of competition they are going to face when coming back, if either of them face anyone in the top reaches of their weight division then they will lose. If however they take a step down in that level than i can see McCullough putting together a couple of wins, anyone with his workrate and chin can work at that level.

Holyfield i'm not to sure can win even at that level, the enforced layoff may have helped him recharge a bit , but I don't know.

So i guess i'm saying your right

Holyfield can barely lift his arms these days let alone fight. I'd have trouble picking him against someone like Rob Calloway at the moment.

Next it'll be Holyfield v Hearns fight to the end on PPV, with no-one being able to understand what either are saying at the press conf.
