Williams v Skelton for British title

Post by Old bones Ian »

It looks likely that the Williams v Skelton will be for the Britsh title.
Although Williams was banned for fighting for it for 6 months after his no-show at the last Skelton fight, Williams appealed and the desision was upheld , but the ban was dropped with immediate effect.

Looks as if Warren will go for the bout to be sanctioned for the British title now.

The board are making a decision on it tomorrow. This is good news! I guess if Williams wins he has to fight Gammer/Sprott next? Lets hope Skelton and Gammer win I do not want to see Williams v Sprott IV!

If Danny wins though who can he have a big fight against domesticly? No point at just staying at domestic level when you beat the best British level has. Same to Skelton too if he wins.

It'd just be best to go back to Euro level after this.

Skeltons just been beating guys Danny already beat anyway so long as Williams turns up right he should win.

When was Williams last right? His conditioning these days is pathetic.

True he is fat but who would be a big fight domestically after this fight for the winner?

Despite his less than stellar performance against Williams, I have to believe that Audley Harrison still may be the biggest threat to compete at the world-class level. He's got all the tools necessary, you just have to wonder where his head is at times. Williams conditioning and Skelton's lack of boxing ability and rather advanced age will hinder them both against top-ten fighters. Although with the current "champs" ruling the division right now who knows? This is my first post on this site, so please be kind. I find this forum more interesting somewhat than the Current thread and I'm American (Or a bloody Yank if you prefer!)

Williams has promised to lay off the junk food for this fight. Why didn't he lay off it for the last one then?

It's Skelton for me, but he's still too old and limited.

Williams has said that countless times in the past and never has the discipline to stick to it, why now? He'll come in fat again.

I've lost count now. Is Jim McDonald back training Williams now, or is it still Ronald in charge?

The winner of Skelton V Williams (Skelton) will hope that Gammer can pull of an upset against Sprott , otherwise they will be forced to move over old ground..........dangerous old ground .

Audley Harrison should go to Johnny Nelson and get him to change what effect that fear has on him . If he can get it to spur him on like Nelson , sure he'll still be boring and not a crowd favourite but he will be decent fighter .

Why should the winner of Williams and Skelton fight the winner of Sprott/Grammer? They'd need a bigger challenge so on to Euro they should go.

Lets see how Skelton can out strength someone whos as stronger or stronger.

I agree, no interest in seeing either fighter box Sprott or Gammer, the winner of this has to try and get into the World Class mix. I really want Skelton to win, I want to see what he's like up at a higher level, we already have seen Williams, so for me, Skelton adds more excitement being the winner.
