Haye vs Browne

Post by big lennox »

This would be a good fight. A direct route back to the title for Haye and a high profile fight for Browne. Their styles would match up well, I think.

It would be interesting while it lasted, Haye would probably bang Browne out but Browne is a big lump with a great heart and after last night you never know?

Haye would toy with him and finish it pretty much as soon as he wants to. Perfect opponent for Haye.

Would like to see Brown fight , Haye , AJ , or Fury , could'nt care less has long has he got a big enough payday to set him up for life , Heres a success story , what seems like a genuine nice guy , with only a big punch and a bigger heart , plods away and secures his dream the hard way , Good on the guy , Fury is the one i would actually like to see him in with ,, could he beat Fury , doubt it ,, Fury would jab hold and run alnight long ,, But if Brown could land the hail mary , it would be a dream come true

I am not sure thats what Haye wants. Yes he can beat Browne but I doubt he would want to tussle with elephants like Fury and Ortiz. He will specifically target AJ.

But Haye is now older, slower, also bigger himself and may not fancy (or be capable) of a twelve round defensive strategy. That and the fact that Browne is very slow, predictable and easy to hit will probably see a more aggressive, explosive Haye.

No disrespect to Browne but Haye probably does him in a couple of rounds.
That pretty much sums it up for me. Might not be couple of rounds but sooner rather later Haye will connect an end it.

Briggs Haye would be a good fight, as well inside as outside the ring. Haye absolutely doesn't deserve a shot at any serious belt.

Indeed, he's just after money, that's all.

I hope this fight gets made, and I made a prediction that Haye would be fighting the Chagaev/Browne winner as it seems like his bag, some profile and decent reward vs low risk as well as a step up towards his big money fight vs Wilder or Joshua.

It seems pretty logical actually for the O2. Browne would surely have to take it, as it comes with money. Don't see what else he is going to do, is he enough of a draw in Australia to do a bum of the month Brahmer style 'reign'? His guys will know his level after getting dropped hard and nearly stopped by an old, fat Chagaev. Need to get it right for their man and Haye is an early stoppage defeat without too much damage taken compared to a long war against a bruiser. Browne could rebuild in Australia afterwards.

I think it would be more interesting out of the ring.

Briggs is old & past it now.

He still talks a good game, but his body gave up the ghost years ago.

I think Briggs would be a good opponent for Browne. Briggs would see him as easier than Haye and its for a title, Browne would see him as a good name to take and Briggs mouth would attract attention to the fight. Haye is a very tough fight for both men...

Why on earth are people mentioning Briggs, he's ancient, in poor shape, suffers from terrible asthma, and hasn't had a decent victory in a decade.

Enough already.

because Briggs still wants to fight and he still has somewhat of a name to take. Easy money for Browne imo...

As soon as I saw Browne had won I thought Haye would be all over that. Did Browne take much punishment? How quickly could he be available?

It would be a great chance for Haye to regain a world title belt but unfortunately Browne has to fight Fres Oquendo next.
Oquendo is his mandatory opponent and part of the WBA tournament.
Talks are underway to stage Browne vs Oquendo in Australia in June.

Haye would utterly brutalise him. As would joshua. And vs fury it would be another chisora 2.

Really nice guy tho. I think he knows his limitations.

Browne's biography is definitely one that has "you never know until you try" written all over it!

I can see this happening in May. Seems to have all the right ingredients. Haye being undermatched, an opponent that's achieved more than his talent suggests getting a payday, throw Ricky Hatton into the mix you got a promotion, and a story going the way it's meant to go.

I really dont get it surely the winner of Browne/Oquendo should fight the winner of Ortiz/Ustinov for the chance to fight the winner of Fury/Klitschko

Briggs probably managed to get a 'lets go champ' tweet in before Chagaevs arse even hut the canvas.

Agree mate. Can't help but like the fella but the top guys would make easy work of him. He always has half a chance with his power though. Must have some bottle to go over there and not be intimidated! I'd have been heading for the hills as soon as I seen Chagaev turn up for the weigh in surrounded by football casuals with automatic weapons...... Taxi!!
