We need to stop getting our hopes up about these British/British, and British/Irish fights... :brick:

Another Flanagan round. Derry needs to go hell for leather here in the 12th

I don't think it is.
This is a dangerous fight and Terry is hardly a knock out artiste.
People are getting carried away with Terry recent stoppages.
Thanks that's what I thought. Can't see Derry winning but can def see him going 12
Annoyed with myself I didn't take that bet...... I guess I doubted myself after reading some posts...... Regardless it's up to us, and I didn't take it..... Gutted

116-112 Flanagan

I was dissapointed in the performance from Terry, not just the fact that he didnt come close to KO'n a fighter who's been KO'd many times from lesser fighters a while ago,it was the fact he kept fouling persistently, low blows, pushing the forearm etc,he was well lucky not to be deducted earlier,he cut down in the later rounds but it overall i thought it affected his performance tonight, when he cut out the fouling and spoiling he cemented the win

Credit to Mathews he never allowed himself to be bullied and fought a great fight,he started off excellently and i had him in the lead at 1 point,he found Terry easy to hit,Flanagan's class told in the end,it wasnt a classic but Derry should be proud of his effort

Spot on. Had the same score at the arena, I expected more from Terry although once again I maybe underestimated Derry.

Up the quality, cut the quantity.
the card should build and Flanagan vs. Mathews should be the last fight of the night and everybody goes home happy...
There's far too much pap on this card.
This card should just be W@rrens scousers and international fighters Tete and Singh.
Langford should he topping a small show in Birmingham or undercard on a BJS show.
Langford, Askin, Barrett and Woodstock could have been trimmed from this bill to streamline it...
:TU:
Langford Taylor was a good fight IMO should have been headliner in Wolverhampton where Langford has headlined before.

Terry isn't going to look great every time out though I thought he won 'easily' enough. I thought Derry would press more and throw more power shots though he showed he's still not done at a high level. Styles make for exciting bouts and Terry will look more destructive in future, I'm sure. I don't think the low shots were dirty, they were on the belt - I was surprised that Derry didn't throw body shots and I thought the forearm under Derry's chin was to keep from heads banging.

The ref shouldve been sterner with Flanagan a lot sooner,he was getting away with every infringment in the book which was strange as he didnt need to do that,if the ref stumped it out sooner we would have had a better fight or Terry wouldve been DQ'd,when he did concentrate on his boxing in the 2nd half then his dominance was clear to see

I dont want to take nothing away from Mathews because i thought he was excellent but if Flanagan's as good as i think he is then that was a 6/10

I had no faith in any result other then a Flanagan victory.
Was a very hard fight to predict and the bookies had it tied up to be honest.
Won a good chunk on Jurgen brehmer points at 11/10.
Was pretty nailed on imo

For me Terry wasn't particularly dirty last night and I actually thought he was a touch unlucky to have a point deducted.
At the time Derry was continually using his head when clenched together and was subsequently being pushed away to avoid unnecessary damage.
There were a couple of low blows but nothing you don't see most competitive fights.
Derry is a true warrior and knows all the tricks in the book , cute with it too but Terry didn't allow himself to be bullied and took control from the off.
It wasn't his best performance but at no stage was he in any trouble and bossed it to the end always being aware of Derry's ko power.

Easy nights work in fairness away in his opponents backyard. Lots more to come from Flanagan

:TU: that's pretty much how I viewed the bout. I did imagine that Derry would get stuck in more and throw more hooks and uppercuts - Terry's footwork must be very effective, it was Derry's last crack (surely) and thought he would go out blazing.

With Crolla as WBA champion I don't see why he can't get another world title crack.

I wouldn't moan if he did, I like how Derry comes across - he's a decent fellow. He may do better v Crolla, it was Matthews himself who said he'd likely not get another crack.
