Verdejo vs. Gamboa or Darsley Perez in August

Top Rank Matchmakers were asked recently about Verdejo's plans this year. They initially had planned for Verdejo to fight Jose Felix Jr 33 Ws 1 L 1 D. And then to have face Gamboa or Darsley Perez in the week of the Puerto Rican day parade. Though due to Jose Felix Jr pulling out of the April 16th bout, this has back tracked this plan. Verdejo is to face Jose Felix Jr June 16th, and to fight Gamboa or Darsley Perez some time in August. They're hoping to get Felix Verdejo a title shot by December against Terry Flanagan.

Too soon for Verdejo. He needs to work on defense more. He got caught by Silva flush several times. If Gamboa catches him the same way he is going down hard.
