Spence jnr & GGG

Post by Pureist »

All the Americans on here are talking spence up an absolute treat as being the next big thing yet bag the hell out of GGG, hypocracy is at an all time high obviously yet spence has his biggest test yet against Algieri, thoughts

It is natural. People are rooting for their likes. With RJJ, Hopkins and Mayweather out of the picture and Ward likely retiring or getting a brutal beating, all hopes are with Crawford, Spence and a few others. Yes, there is certainly hypocrisy present.

I think these are the two most avoided guys in all of boxing. No one wants to fight GGG and no one wants to fight Spence either. Spence might be the best guy at 147 right now. He is being avoided BIGTIME but he is the real deal. I guarantee you if Floyd were to come out of retirement Spence is the LAST guy he would want.

Spence is absolutely the real deal. But so is GGG. As long as he stays away from Ward he won't lose until he's old and broken down.

Roy Jones Jr? Did you really just go there? He's been gone for 10 yrs for all intents. Your notion that Americans only root for Americans is cute. It's just the opposite with just about every boxing fan I know. We couldn't be any less nationalistic with our fighters. We respect skill, no matter the color of skin, but as a white man I can only speak for myself and those closest to me. Boxing is like the 9th most famous sport in the States. Most people don't care enough about it to be nationalistic. I understand it's not the same for Russians and Ukrainians and the like - not having the amazing athletes to follow in all the other big sports.

No way on earth the most protective businessman in boxing Haymon sacrifices his future star to get eaten alive by Golovkin - end of discussion -

Didn't read the thread properly eh, it's a comparison between the way they are treated, not whether they will fight each other, get off the turps

Personally i'm still not completely sold on Spence Jr like most people. I think he's very good but i'm not sure he's the next big superstar of the sport like some have him touted as being. I still see a lot of flaws. I think he's rather flat footed and and he's pretty hittable aswell. On the plus side, he's a very good body puncher and generally a good puncher full stop and is a big welterweight with good technique.

Disagree with that, if a fight goes more then 2 rounds without toe to toe action you hear boos and whistles non stop, its absolutely embarrassing.

Spence is a prospect with potential. That is all. 3G is avoided by most fighters from around the globe in the MW div. He is acknowledged by most American posters, besides the most shameless of FLoydiots, to be in the top 5 of the p4p list, at least.

The premise of your thread is trash.

GGG is selling out arenas all of America. Most of those people didn't travel all the way from kazikston. I think it is safe to say American fight fans love GGG.

Fans bash GGG cuz he's beat nobody!!!!! Dude is like 34 defended his title several times and.....nothing. A lot of it is not his fault but that's what fans have on him. Ggg nuthuggers claiming he could defeat Zeus r the ones that get him bashed. Spence is a up n comer....completely different than ggg who's been champ for a while now. So no hypocrisy, ur just an American hating douche. Ikorolov jerks off to ggg, his opinion doesn't count.

Let's not pretend that there is such uniform entity as "American fight fans". There are Flomos, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, post-Soviets, etc. which all have their own favorites.

Look, there are plenty of 3G huggers but come on, man. If they won't fight it isn't his fault. That's a hilarious criticism, "nobody will fight him so he can't be that great." :maybe:

I really like both Spence and GGG. As far as being proven, GGG is more proven, but still lacks that big name to launch him into greatness. It is no secret Cotto and now Canelo have avoided GGG.

Spence, if I were to predict, will show that he is one of the best if not the best welterweight. What he does in the Algieri fight will tell us a lot. Many of the top guys have "avoided" him, but to say they ducked him doesn't hold water just yet, because he is just making his name. I would favor him vs all the welters today, but no more than just a guess. I don't need to guess if GGG is the best middleweight.

Whether either guy is from America or not, does not at all make me favor one guy over another. We will always have idiots here that make stupid comments to stir things up.

Speaking about Cotto, I wish Spence could fight him before the midget retires.

Learn how to spell "purist" and maybe we can have some sort of educated discussion down the line. Spence is being moved along to a higher level with each passing fight. And the reality is - none of the top guys want a thing to do with him. There's a reason for this.

I can spell my login name as I see fit, now what top guys have avoided him, you seem to think that what you write should be taken as gospel, it's easy saying he is avoided but it's obviously harder to give examples due to your lack of names and evidence, an educated man would realize that
