Talking of Eddie Chambers he seems to be trying to compete with Andre Ward as the bloke who's chucked the largest amount of money down the sh1t box. How much do we think Chambers has made in the last few years compared to what he could have made?

The 2 aren't really comparable.jameswilson wrote:Talking of Eddie Chambers he seems to be trying to compete with Andre Ward as the bloke who's chucked the largest amount of money down the sh1t box. How much do we think Chambers has made in the last few years compared to what he could have made?
One is a very inactive, p4p rated fighter, undoubtedly the best in his natural weight class with 2 very exciting, dangerous, world class fighters in the divisions above and below him that he is in with a solid chance of beating and making huge paydays.
The other is a decent heavyweight that would most likely lose if he stepped up the class of opposition and no one is screaming out to see him fight the best.

Browne does not have the option of loads of easy defences, he fights Oquendo then has to fight the winners of Fury v Klitschko and Ortiz v Ustinov or he will get stripped! maybe that gives him time to fight 1 more fight between the Oquendo fight and the title decider but that would be it

Re: David Haye vs. ??? - May 21st 2016
the Fury/Klit & Ortiz/Ustinov side of the tournament is going to take a while to shake out. If Browne can defend against Oquendo in the next couple of months I could see him getting a special dispensation from the WBA to go and fight whist waiting on who his opponent will be. All depends how active Browne wants to be...thatllbeme wrote:Browne does not have the option of loads of easy defences, he fights Oquendo then has to fight the winners of Fury v Klitschko and Ortiz v Ustinov or he will get stripped! maybe that gives him time to fight 1 more fight between the Oquendo fight and the title decider but that would be it

Yes of course they are, but haye will still ask for the major cut of the total purse on offer.

the salter brothers are business men not russian billionaires, they know how much revenue they can generate from a Haye event. I doubt they would over pay to get an opponent, i imagine they are already guaranteeing Haye a generous sum...keithmoonhangover wrote:Haye ain't paying for it mate, his new backers are.freddydoesdallas wrote:Oh yeah, it has to be a good offer. Haye needs to see this as an investment for a future super fight. He's basically buying a shot at a title in order for a (possible) unification with Joshua or even fury.jamesmcdonnell wrote:
Provided of course Haye makes him an offer he considers lucrative enough.
Haye is going to most likely demand the lion's share, as he's the draw here, and can guarantee a big fight at the 02, given the numbers he did last time for fighting an absolute no-hoper. However, Browne has the option of some soft defences, sure, they won't make him huge amounts, but he can keep Haye waiting for a while. Could backfire however, if Haye manages to negotiate a deal with one of the other belt holders.
Speculate to accumulate dave

Re: David Haye vs. ??? - May 21st 2016
Haye told them how much he needed to put on the first show and they said yes. It looked like a big success, so I can only imagine they'll be hungry for more. In fairness to the Salter brothers, they marketed the fight brilliantly. Barring the next fight ending up on PPV, there is a ceiling for how much the opponent can get paid, which would rule out Shannon Briggs, who is after one last giant payday. I have it on good authority that the opponent was decided, but the Browne win threw a spanner in the works. It's unlikely the Browne-Haye fight will come off as there are a few barriers in the way. Fres Oquendo would need to be paid step-aside money, the WBA would have to allow that. Browne would need to be offered a package he was happy with. More revenue from international broadcast rights would need to be arranged. It's possible, but unlikely. Carlos Takam was the front runner a while back, but he's in talks elsewhere. There aren't that many heavyweights out there that meet the criteria. World ranked, not injured, suspended or busy and willing to come to England and in all likeliness get knocked out. Malik Scott? Andrey Fedosov? Szpilka?wesshaw1985 wrote:the salter brothers are business men not russian billionaires, they know how much revenue they can generate from a Haye event. I didn't necessarily mean that he pays for it. I meant that he should consider the possibility of taking a smaller than usual purse to ensure that Browne comes over in order to get a vastly improved figure against Joshua or Fury.keithmoonhangover wrote: Haye ain't paying for it mate, his new backers are.
I know it might sound ridiculous to compare a Joshua Haye fight to some of the biggest there have been but i do think the figures that both fighters come away with would be easily £10m+. The public at large would be all over it

Hopefully, they can put together a plan to give Browne a financial package. There is a risk but the potential rewards are hugekeithmoonhangover wrote:Haye told them how much he needed to put on the first show and they said yes. Haye said in his video he had an opponent prior to the Browne win. I don't think Browne will take this. He's just won a "world" title and probably will want to have a fight at home.keithmoonhangover wrote:Haye told them how much he needed to put on the first show and they said yes. The Takam fight would have been credible and competitive. I wouldn't have been surprised to see Takam beat Haye.
I'm sure after all the talk and speculation it will be Malik Scott, as suggested it was ages ago before he even fought De Mori.

From this list I think Stiverne is by distance the weakest opponend who's worth the most points, somehow I think Briggs deserves the fight the most, Briggs and Haye are really quite equal, somehow Haye is probably to much of a coward to fight him.
Re: David Haye vs. ??? - May 21st 2016
Haye doesn't strike me as being unwilling to take a risk. But on saying that, I can see him going down the route of taking easy opponents, getting himself on Freeview and taking the money until Joshua is ready to fight.

Agreed.wesshaw1985 wrote:Browne denies any link - http://www.BS.com/browne-dismi ... ay--102377
I've got a feeling it will be Eddie Chambers. he's just been in camp with Robert Helenius and David Allen and hes talking quite abit about an up coming fight on his twitter. Chambers would be a decent challenge for Haye if it were made...
Chambers would represent a non threatening step up in class for the Hayemaker.
