Fast Eddie announcing on twitter that Bellew is to face Makabu for the WBC Green and Gold, date and venue to be announced. Have a I missed something because I thought Drozd was the WBC Champ?

I don't think so. Why should Makabu suffer because Drozd got injured?

Drozd has been a terrible world champion and he shouldn't be allowed to hold up the division.

This thread needs a better name.

I see Goodison has been mentioned. Would surely need a couple of massive fights on the undercard to get anywhere near making that look busy wouldn't it?

Drozd has real injury problems. Hopefully he gets himself sorted and gets first crack. Real good 50/50 fight though Bellew/Makubu. I can see Bellew on his Backfoot and tactical to a close decision.

I'm going to admit it. I'm looking forward to a Tony Bellew fight (if it's on normal sky not PPV)

Will struggle to do 15k unless huge undercard. Optimistic having it at goodison. Dream come true for Bellew tho and Eddie's delivered for him.

After the fight:
- "He was very strong, powerful, tough (possibly even "teak tough")"
- "I was boxing to orders"
- "told to use my boxing skills"

The description teak tough is a certain sky description of a African opponent.

Makabu isn't a joke. He could take Bellew out. In fact I'm thinking that's a likely outcome.

Bellew v Makabu

Post by SteveDow »

What does everyone think of this one?

Horrible opponent for Bellew for a world title. Hits like a truck and is pretty unorthodox.

Makabu by KO for me.

Hoping the bookies price Bellew as favourite as this could be a real opportunity to make a bit of dough.
