I'll always be certain that the 2nd Liston fight was a dive on Liston's part. Why he took the dive I'll never know, but he definitely took a dive. None of Ali's other fights looked fixed to me. Unless you wanna count bad judging as a fix, in which case that's happened more times than any of us can count.

If I had to guess what happened. I think he got hit hard, went down and decided that he just didn't want anymore. Ali had his number and he knew it. IMHO.

My dad use to tell me that max baer refused to take a dive vs carnera and proceeded to beat him around the ring.
Not sure how accurate this is.

I've not seen the Marquez v John bout and the first 2 Marquez v Pacquiao bouts were close but I honestly thought Marquez had won the third hands down, my wife watched that one and couldn't believe the result. I though Pacquiao was making a statement in the 4th bout until he got cold cocked.

Totally agree. First two could've went either way but a lot of folk had JMM winning. I couldn't split them. The third decision stank to the high heavens.
