Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
Eddie Hearn says this November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua showdown
British promoter Eddie Hearn is working on making a number of big fights this year, and top of the list is a potential all-British blockbuster up at heavyweight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Hearn, in his column for Mail Online, wrote how he is somewhat amused by people suggesting, via social media and on the boxing web sites, that he would not let his fighter Joshua in with Fury so soon.
Not so, writes Hearn, who feels the fight is a natural and will be worked on for as soon as this November providing both heavies win their next fight. Fury will of course fight former champ Wladimir Klitschko at a still-to-be-determined date (possibly June 4th), while Joshua will challenge IBF ruler Charles Martin next month. The would-be unification would be a “huge fight,” Hearn writes and that “all being well we might make Joshua-Fury in November.”

Haye/Joshua a certainty later in the year bar losses or Injurys.
Fury/wilder is the other big heavy fight bar losses.

That's because you're full of sh1t. Hearn wants to make a huge money spinning fight involving one of his fighters and you, a keyboard warrior, know better than him. Hmmmm.Horse wrote:What a silly thing to say.keithmoonhangover wrote:Prove it.

Hearn says he wants to make it, that doesn't mean that he does.keithmoonhangover wrote:That's because you're full of sh1t. Hearn wants to make a huge money spinning fight involving one of his fighters and you, a keyboard warrior, know better than him. Hmmmm.
"Keyboard warrior"? Laughable comment.

Your only involvement in boxing is typing your keyboard and looking at the screen.Horse wrote:Hearn says he wants to make it, that doesn't mean that he does.keithmoonhangover wrote:That's because you're full of sh1t. I hope he does want to make the fight.keithmoonhangover wrote:Hahaha. You act like a spoiled brat. Hearn wants to make the fight, what's the big deal?Horse wrote:I don't believe it.
But for once Sur I disagree with you. I think Hearn is just yapping his gums.
But I hope I am wrong
Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
I think Hearn saw what everyone else saw in the Whyte fight. Joshua showing he still has some to learn about pacing himself and defense. A fight this soon against Fury, with the conditioning and volume Tyson can have on top of matching the size, could prove problematic. I think Joshua has the offensive edge but Fury is agile so it's a must see fight. But I highly doubt it happens in November regardless of what Slick Eddie says, unless Fury thinks now is better than when AJ gets more experience that fight is a ways away.

I'm not sure which one of you is wrong.
Maybe Hearn is full of shit (maybe? almost certainly) he would have very little motivation to put his golden goose in with a massive risk of losing. And that's exactly what Fury represents.
KMH, you might be right but I suggest it's for one reason and one reason only. The reward makes the big risk worth taking. He can afford to put him in with Fury if the sums really do add up. Which they might as this fight is potentially huge, even no.
but even then, we've seen it time and again, holding out, biding their time, waiting until the fight seems more winnable, wait until the payday has been hyped more etc.
I'll be astounded if Hearn makes a REAL effort to make this fight this year.
A half arsed offer to make it look like he wants it?
Perhaps.
Actually deliver it?
I'll be very very pleasantly surprised if we see Fury vs AJ next year let alone this.

I usually support British fighters but I kinda hope Joshua gets sparked by Martin. He annoys me... and his fans annoy me even more.

I like Joshua, but I don't think he's the savior of the division or anything. We'll see how he looks against Martin.tigermoth87 wrote:I usually support British fighters but I kinda hope Joshua gets sparked by Martin. He annoys me... and his fans annoy me even more.

Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
I think he's a good fighter. He just comes across as kinda fake in interviews with the whole nice guy act. But the casual fans deepthroating him on my facebook feed after he KOs someone like Gary Cornish claiming he's going to KO Klitschko, Fury, Wilder etc annoy me more.gilgamesh wrote:I like Joshua, but I don't think he's the savior of the division or anything. Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
Fury is supposed to be tied-up with a whole series of WBA tournament fights. I'm skeptical that this will take place this year.
Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
Its very unlikely. If you watch IFLTV latest video with Hearn and Briggs you will see that Eddie is aiming to build up Joshua Briggs fight for the Autumn. Even if that doesn't come off fight against Browne or even Haye is more likely IMO for hosts of reasons. There is also Wilder Povetkin winner and a Glazkov mandatory is not far around the corner. Yes they would fight Fury but I think it is the last option and its not going to happen this year.keithmoonhangover wrote:Prove it.Horse wrote:He's talking rubbish.keithmoonhangover wrote:Hahaha. Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
Hearn has said that the only reason they took the world title fight is they would have a few good fights not the toughest before a mandatory was due, I'm sure when the time comes August/September time he will say this needs to be a summer stadium fight as its too big to put in an arena and too cold November time he's priceless

Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
Personally I don't know why people would think Hearn wouldn't want to put Joshua in with Fury. Joshua beats Fury relatively easily imo. Fury doesn't even have the power to score a one-shot ko like Wilder or Haye would.
Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
Joshua fought his way up to an elite amateur and is 15-0 as a pro, at what point does he stop being referred to as a novice and it bing considered "too soon" for him to step up?
Re: Eddie Hearn: "This November is a possibility for Fury-Joshua"
Most people don't think that Joshua will beat Fury easily, because he won't.Boxerbeetle wrote:Personally I don't know why people would think Hearn wouldn't want to put Joshua in with Fury. Hearn doesn't think that Joshua will beat him easily either.
