I actually started this thread as I thought it was a bit hypocritical of me to slate refs on the MBC thread for not giving away fighters a chance when that's exactly what we got last night.

Please tell me your post is a joke!! A 9-9 round when the UK score to the 10 point must system. Sit down and be quiet FFS.

You automatically lose a point if you go down do you not? I've seen rounds scored 9-8 etc so I don't see why you're wetting your knickers at the guys comment?

You have not seen a UK bout scored 9-8 etc, one fighter has to be awarded 10 points. Go and sit next to the other chap

What if they are deducted points etc..

If there's a deduction is the round then not scored 9-9 or 9-8 if someone was down? I have seen rounds scored this way but I can't remember which fight or fights. Maybe I am thinking of an international bout or a world title bout? I'm not 100% sure to be honest.

Was really good to see a result like that for that type of fight. Good on the ref hope I see more of the away fighter getting a fair crack, ive seen my share of the wrong ones over the years

MBC refs are often the shows promoter as well, or a fighters manager, trainer, best mate, dad (or a combination of these)

I think you might have misunderstood if i remember correctly.

I dont think he was slating the mbc refs, just that it was on that thread.

Am sure there are plenty more, though. But despite this, think we will never dispel myths such as "automatic 10-8 round", "you can't win a round if you've been knocked down", and so on. Reminds me of the painful news coverage of the Brexit issue - why rely on facts which myths are so much more fun?
