Peckham ABC

Does anyone on here know what happened to the club (was it demolished?). I know there's other boxing clubs in that area now like Lynn's & Miguel's, but where was the Peckham ABC situated at? (what street or road was it on)

Did anyone on here train there?

Peckham ABC was run out of an old church hall which is still there. The Bird in Bush road end of Glengall road. It was run by Sid and Ron Mitchell. I was at the club from late 70s to early 80s. The club closed down, not sure why heard various rumours that I wouldn't like to share as it's a place dear to my heart. Sure a few of the guys walked around the corner and joined Lynn AC as it was known back then another club dear to me as I was there early til mid 80s. Would love to see Peckham ABC up and running again and have often contemplated getting a seconds licence and doing myself but it's just a pipe dream.

Cheers for that. The reason I wanted to know is because of Sid who I see not regulary. I have mentioned him before and was looking for stuff on him and other boxing coaches (Terry Davies of Barking ABC) on the net.

I boxed out of there from 1974 to 1978
Ron and Sid were great men. All in a little church hall in Peckham. Happy days. Had 33 fights all over London. Does anyone remember boxing at The North peckham civic centre? And Manor Place baths off the Walworth Rd?
