Any others out there with a Long Career like this...
Is Danny Williams still going too?Old bones Ian wrote:At least they could still perform at some level unlike Michael Sprott who fought again last week and lost in the 1st round again. That's 4 KO losses in a row now, 3 of those by 1st round knockout.

Sad to watch. Still in decent enough shape too. Long hard career caught up with him years ago.Old bones Ian wrote:At least they could still perform at some level unlike Michael Sprott who fought again last week and lost in the 1st round again. I read a story years ago that Campas had wanted to retire and was threatened by Mexican gangsters with guns that if he did he would be killed, they threw him out of a moving car as well.Londonirish wrote:Luis Ramon Campas is STILL Fighting after 29 yearsMade his debut in 1987 and boxed Jan this year now on 126 fights, Started out at a Walterweight, last fight was at cruiserweight..

Nah they don't do things by half they lads. They like to make the odd example every so often lol....palooka wrote:afraid not, think they'd muscled in on his manager - he was a little cash cow and a way to launder a bit of money. Those Mexican gangsters do not mess about.

The gulf between Jones Jnr and Hopkins is stark. I look forward to Hopkins' biography.reggaereggae wrote:Hopkins is also talking about another fight at 50....
It's very strange how a boxers punch resistance just disappears, fighters known for their durability suddenly just go with shots they'd walk through before.Tuan_Jim wrote:That's another scary KO to add to Sprott's growing collection. Only looked a glancing blow but it destroyed him. He should have retired after his points loss to Helenius. Since then he's taken a string of beatings.
I read something about that. It's some MMA guy I think. Fans had to send in a video to RJs promotion team or some crap! It must be an exhibition surely?orbtastic wrote:Isn't Roy Jones literally fighting a fan tonight?
Happened to Hatton. He looked in bother a few times against Lazcano and it wasn't massive shots either.palooka wrote:It's very strange how a boxers punch resistance just disappears, fighters known for their durability suddenly just go with shots they'd walk through before.Tuan_Jim wrote:That's another scary KO to add to Sprott's growing collection. Saw it on fightnews when I woke up this morning. I assumed I wasn't reading properly but yeah, he had 1200 applicants or something and it's not just an exhibition. I know his career is just so bizarre the last few years but this is circus stuff. It's lose/lose for him, what's he got to gain?Stuarty30 wrote:I read something about that. It's some MMA guy I think. Sprott never had an iron chin in his prime, but it is shocking how bad he's going over nowadays.palooka wrote:It's very strange how a boxers punch resistance just disappears, fighters known for their durability suddenly just go with shots they'd walk through before.Tuan_Jim wrote:That's another scary KO to add to Sprott's growing collection. yep you have to worry for their long term health , perhaps the relevant boards should step in.TheCobra wrote:Sprott - that was pathetic, couple of half-decent punches landed and he was away with the fairies. Shot to absolute pieces. Same with Danny Williams. They need protecting from themselves.
