Lucas Brown Issues Statement
Lucas Brown Issues Statement
"I would like to assure all my fans, the whole of the boxing world and all of Australia that I am not a drug user or a drug cheat.
"The news of this positive test has shocked and devastated me, and I will be fighting for as long as it takes to clear my name.
"Prior to today I had not heard of the drug clenbuterol and had no idea what it was used for. I am now aware it is essentially a weight-stripping drug, and as a heavyweight boxer the idea of me using it is utterly ridiculous. I am a staunch long-time opponent of any drug use, performance-enhancing or otherwise.
"My team and I were well aware of the many risks involved in going to a place like Chechnya to fight a reigning champion, and believed we had taken sufficient precautions. In addition it was at our insistence that the VADA testing was implemented for the fight."

Proven guilty so it's up to Lucas and his team to prove he is innocent. . Most drug cheats claim they are innocent. ..
Drugs are for mugs
If guilty the result should be overturned and he should be banned for five years

Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
I don't like to be a conspiracy theorist, but it is fairly plausible he was drugged.
Not until the B sample is tested.mullenman wrote:Proven guilty so it's up to Lucas and his team to prove he is innocent. . Most drug cheats claim they are innocent. ..

Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
Please. We are talking about VADA here. Not RUSADA.
VADA.
He's guilty. Period.

Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
you'll never really know if it was him taking it out of his own choice or whether it was sly capers and something was put his food/drink but whatever the case he is in a jam
Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
..the usual BS statement..but I agree we should wait for the B sample...
Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
I think they have a good argument even if the B sample comes back dirty.
Hatton Promotions issued a statement saying the following:
Ricky Hatton and Hatton Promotions were made aware on Monday night that Lucas Browne delivered a positive A sample drug test following his world title win over Ruslan Chagaev.
"We believe strongly that boxing should be free from performance enhancing drugs. We believe Lucas Browne to be a clean athlete who arrived in Chechnya a clean athlete.
"We are therefore conducting our own further investigation and cannot comment further at this time."
If the random VADA testing shows him testing clean all the days and months before the fight
I think they may have a real good case for him being given something or accidently ingesting
the substance IN RUSSIA.

..once the lawyers get involved, they'll prove to the rest of the world that you are NOT the son of your mom and dad...and what is even more interesting, you'll start believing it yourself

I liked Lucas before I read this hideous response. People who have tattoos all over their bodies and look like freaking clowns should be tolerant.

He needs to get on the phone to Floyd. I hear it's a retroactive TUE you need if you get caught.

Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
He must have at least some explaination how it came in his body, is it possible to get it in your body on accident? If I see all those positive tests, I sometimes think, is it really possible that like 20% of the people out there have doping in their body without knowing it?

Perhaps it's possible the Russians put it in his food/drink?
They weren't above letting the round go longer when Browne was hurt.

Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
Well if that can be proved everything is fine right? If it's used to lose fat it's useless to take just before the fight, so if that's done anyway he can at least prove he never lost fat using it. Also, don't boxers get tested more often? If he used it in the past few months Chagaev never needed to risk his health at all.Tony1244 wrote:asdfjkl wrote:He must have at least some explaination how it came in his body, is it possible to get it in your body on accident? Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
I love conspiracy nut jobs. They're the best. That argument loses all weight when VADA is the testing company. They have no connection to Russian interests. None whatsoever. What do you think is more likely, someone put drugs in his food somewhere, or the guy who looked in by far the best shape of his life took something?
He looked more svelte and trim than any fight in his entire career and popped for the very drug that achieves such desired effect.
This isn't rocket science.

Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
I hope he proves his innocence. It just doesn't add up. Browne is the one that requested the testing, and why would a heavyweight want or need something to burn fat?
Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
Why do you think? To get lighter and inprove stamina. Why else? Fighting against an old man being lighter and in more agile condition allows you to outlast an older man. And what happened?Badhusker wrote:I hope he proves his innocence. It just doesn't add up. Browne is the one that requested the testing, and why would a heavyweight want or need something to burn fat?

I never said that's what happened, but I did say it is possible and it is. A conspiracy is an illegal act done by 2 or more people. Conspiracies happen all the time.
Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
Browne is innocent. He was tested clean before he got to Cheat-chana. It's obvious Russian mafia either slipped something into his bevy or food, or they fixed the test samples. You don't just take something right before a fight expecting it to work miracles. I had a feeling those b_____ds would pull something.
Lucas Browne won fair and square.

Re: Lucas Brown Issues Statement
count 1 - guilty
count 2 - guilty
count 3 - guilty
where did he have power to KO chagaev (only wlad has, not even povetkin could) in late rounds after he got knocked down and was gassing
shane warne was a cheating ozzie, took duiretics to trim his fat. its a common thing down under

Why would someone slip another fighter PED'S to help them beat their Champion

So there'd be an excuse after a loss.

So help someone to win by giving them Ped's then you can make an excuse about losing because he took Ped's i'll make sure to remember that

I concede I know nothing about this substance and have never heard of it. But in my humble opinion if a substance won't help you win a fight it shouldn't be banned.
The alphabet bodies and I have something in common; we don't care about each other's opinion. Having said that I only brought up the possibility that Browne was framed. And he well may have been.
