Lol and how reliable do you think that source is? If I send you spam, do believe you can get a chick with it? Or that you have a relative that can give you 10m if you send him a 1000? It's a website who's guessing and making up storys it's not reliable at all.Nightmare Roy wrote:Don't know how I'm an old cuntt on my birds iPhone, just put largest boxing purses in Google 3rd one down on a site called therichest, say they are the 4th highest paid for one fight 32m eachasdfjkl wrote:Just show the link?Nightmare Roy wrote: Google it its in the rich list website they actually got $32 a piece , not to shabby eh?

Re: Haye-Briggs is on.
The problem you've got is with stats like that you need to know how they arrived there, is it highest purses, complete total made, just tv buys etc
Re: Haye-Briggs is on.
You really don't have a clue what you're talking about do you? Do you honestly think the main thing guys like Chagaev and Scott want is a chance to crawl up the world rankings? Are you completely naïve? It's about money you clown.asdfjkl wrote:Long story short, both Briggs and Haye aren't top of the world. On potential opponents that you've listed:
Chagev - Obviously he would be fine - he's kept reasonably active, has beaten a couple of fringe-contender type guys and isn't ancient. Nowt great but acceptable.
Tarver - Obviously not! 47 years ancient, now a two time drug cheat, zero win of any note at heavyweight - Bit like Briggs then isn't he?!
Wright - The mention of his name strongly suggests you haven't got a clue what your taking about. Wright is 51, Hogg fat, has never beaten a single heavyweight of any note, been stopped within five rounds of the three times he has fought anyone close to top end level and likes to outweigh his opponents by at least 70/80 odd pounds.
Holyfield and Foreman are both all time greats (for the record Briggs falls somewhat short of this). By the age of 44 Holyfield was well shot, had been beaten by Larry Donald and wouldn't have been an acceptable opponent for Haye. Foreman beat Moorer at 45 - an exceptional achievment, but this was a man who'd beaten Frazier, Norton and Lyle - an elite level heavy. After beating Moorer he got a gift vs Shultz and could only beat Savarese on a split. To finish, at age 48, he got completly jobbed against a very average 25 year old heavy in his prime - which shows just how bang average Briggs is!
This is not about Haye being a great heavy - I've already, painstakingly, told you I don't think he is or was. I don't think he deserves a shot straight at a title either.
Let's be honest though. He was a very good Cruiserweight who beat some lower top 10/15 level heavyweights and was well beaten, although hardly beaten up, by Wlad. He's still a good age for a heavy, is an ex-champion who has only lost to Wlad and I think most fair minded people would judge him to be around top 20 level. I think he should earn any shot he gets (although money will likely dictate otherwise) but he should be fighting someone like Chagev, Helenius, Hammer, Stirverne, Scott, etc now.
Please tell me what creditable threat Briggs poses to Haye?
Also, I really don't think Briggs is that bad, I've seen 50+ year olds competing the the world strongest men just a few years ago, age doesn't say everything.
Haye has bucket loads of options as he has managed to sell out the O2 twice in four months - once with a sub standard club fighter and now with no announced opponents, plus the undercards are crap! Briggs has been fighting in front of a couple of thousand (at best) in small hall venues.
Briggs is that bad, he really is. Have you watched any of his recent fights?
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=br ... ORM=VRDGAR
Watch that. Briggs blows himself out in a couple of rounds and from then out barely moves and hardly throws a punch. He looks shocking.
I have no idea what worlds strongest man has to do with this. They're not getting hit in the face and potentially getting brain damaged.

You clearly don't understand that boxing is a business, it's not about who 'deserves' a fight - if there's enough money on the table, Chagaev, Stiverne, Scott, Helenius or Hammer would all take a fight with Haye. A win over Haye for any of them would be a massive name on their ledger, and they would raise their profiles. Provided the risk was balanced by the reward. Whether Haye would want any of those names right now, is another matter.
Whether or not you rate Haye (I don't especially), he's a former world champ at 2 weights, and is well known.
Briggs is so far past his best that I really don't want to see him in with Haye, it would be a merciless pummelling.
Haye has plenty of options, he sold out a big venue in London fighting an absolute nobody, and he clearly can bring a lot of punters to a fight.
Re: Haye-Briggs is on.
Yes - he was the number one Cruiserweight in the world! Yes he knows how to sell a fight - but that's how this business works. He out boxed Valuev to get a decision in Germany and was the only the second man to stop John Ruiz at heavy. I don't especially rate him but he is a big attraction who makes money and thus is very attractive to a lot of other heavyweightsasdfjkl wrote:What makes you think Haye is a big name? He managed to talk himself into some fights, that's all, he's a smart guy, but not a top contender.
I know all the names you named and I only know Haye thanks to Klitschko and his unfair win against Valuev while he ran around like a chicken, the only reason he sells is because of his smart mediatalk, he can do that against Briggs as well and the other names you mentioned can sell tickets as well, Haye isn't worth the risk for them, they would rather fight each other as David Haye.
Which other name mention sells tickets? Scott? Stiverne? Hammer? Are you honestly being serious? None of them sell anything like Haye, in fact they are all poor ticket sellers. You're just making stuff up as you go along man

I'm not even sure he has a great punchers chance. He's so slow he will struggle to really get to Haye properly and couldn't put Love away in 12 who Joshua just steamrollered.Controversial wrote:Briggs hasn't looked good in years so I doubt very much he will last long, he's a slow as hell and has crap stamina. Briggs wanted to fight Wilder for free, money means a lot, but a high rank often means more. The only reason for Scott and such guys to fight someone risky is a lot of money indeed, Haye can't bring that. Yes, talkers like Haye, Harrison, Fury, Wilder bring more money as Scott, Glazkov, name them. But the difference aint that high. AJ will generate more money. Re: Haye-Briggs is on.
I agree but any fighter has the potential to knock someone out, especially when they are the size of Briggs, he has that chance, a very slim one but a chance nonetheless. I think Briggs will be lucky to last beyond one round personally. I hope Haye doesn't fight him as its a weak opponent but with the stupid WBA ranking Briggs has I can see how beating Briggs would propel Haye up the rankings faster.fizzjambo wrote:I'm not even sure he has a great punchers chance. Read a piece on Shannon about 3 years ago. He came across as a real good guy. I know he's a bigger lump than most but the Klitschko brother (Vitali?) cracked bones in his face I tought I remember reading... it's a shame there's nothing else he can turn his hand to for a living.

No boxer wants to fight for free. They want to make a living like you and me and unlike most of us they might just take a savage beating doing so.
De Mori got a career high pay day, but then how much do you think he got fighting in glorified gyms in Croatia?
I don't dislike Briggs, I wouldn't begrudge him a payday, esp after he was allowed to take so much punishment vs Vitali. You on the other hand seem to have a delusional hatred of Haye, you're coming across as clueless as a result

Briggs was fighting in front of what, 200 people there, he's clearly desperate for money. Haye sold 20,000 at the 02, fighting someone with virtually zero chance of winning.

Is David's brother James turning Pro? I'm sure I read recently that he's signed for someone.
Re: Haye-Briggs is on.
Interestingly recently Haye has gone one record saying that his doomed fight with Fury was a 50/50 split of £5m each. That seemed like an extremely good deal for Tyson and probably doubled (if not more) he gross earnings from the Wlad fight.
