"The Hawk vs Canelo"

Post by bnovelist »

I'm going to go ahead and say it...Julian Jackson is the most frightening 154lber I've seen seen in all my years of watching boxing! How would

he match up against the current legit 154lb kingpin "Saul" Alvarez? I think Canelo is more skilled but if Julian catches him clean a few times even

with Canelo respected chin it could be lights out.      Julian Jackson is soooo underrated. He's the best junior

middleweight in the past 30yrs I'm sure of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCHyVyFgX-8 In fact He would destroy Canelo, Cotto, Margarito,

& Mayweather ALL IN THE SAME TOURNAMENT. No fighter in recent years DARES to challenge "The Hawk" :shame: :box: :shame: :box:

HAWK KO man that guy was devastating. A little before my time but I have gone back and watched him. He is up there for me as one of the hardest hitters ever. Canelo would never get in the ring with that dude the same way he is avoiding GGG.

Mike McCallum is pretty unquestionably a better junior middleweight than Jackson - he has a better record and knocked Jackson out in two rounds at that weight. Thomas Hearns was definitely better too, his last fight at the weight was just under 30 years ago.

As for Jackson vs Canelo - I think it's a pick'em fight, but someone is getting stopped.

I think Jackson would've knocked out Canelo. I don't know if he was the best Jr. Middleweight of the past 30 years, but he was almost certainly the hardest puncher in that weight class in the last 30 years...or possibly ever.

Jackson by KO. Canelo is too slow of foot and hittable. And he fights at a fairly lazy pace. All those factors spell doom against The Hawk.

I agree with you that McCallum was a better Jr Middleweight then Jackson :TU: and Tommy Hearns what a Legend.
