I doubt Mayweather comes back to fight Kahn. If he comes back it will be against someone with much less talent. Mayweather looks for the vulnerable and fighters in decline. I could see Floyd vs. Garcia. I could see Floyd v Bradley if Bradley beat Pac but if Kahn had a nice win against Alvarez I could not see that fight at all unless Kahn showed some great vulnerabilities. You see Floyd is an opportunist who is deathly afraid to lose. That is why he took Berto as his last fight. Of the top ten 147 fighters right now Floyd has fought exactly one of them. Pac. That is it and it is by design. That is part of Floyd's legacy.
When Mayweather fought Guerrero, Khan was getting knocked around by Julio Diaz the week before.![]()
I'd give you Berto ... but when Floyd fought Berto, Khan was 3 months removed from going to hell with Chris Algieri.
Its easy to look back now and say this guy or that guy were bums. If you followed boxing like you should you would know that Berto was a 147 champ for two years, unbeaten when Ortiz beat him and became champ. Floyd didn't fight him when he was on the slide. Guerrero also beat Berto, and had not lost for about 7 years. Mosely is another one. Pacquiao refused to fight him, and was ranked 1 or 2 in the division when Floyd fought him after so many said he was afraid and would never do it. JMM called Floyd out of "retirement", being off for almost 2 years, and was #2pfp at the time. Odds were only 2-1 in Floyd's favor. After Floyd wins he is picking on a small guy. A good part of the reason he was so successful making money is that he picks his opponents when they are at their best. Berto was equal to Khan as far as an opponent. Pick Khan when he struggles with Algieri, gets knocked on his ass vs Diaz, gets KO'd by Garcia, loses to Peterson? Give me a break. A lot of people thought Khan LOST to both Diaz and Algieri. Floyd would have clowned the idiot Khan, and not got any credit. He makes $32 million no matter who he fights for his last one.
By the way, the only guy Floyd would fight if he comes back is Garcia because he KO'd Khan and is unbeaten. I hope he stays retired.
