I'll start us of with....
Carl 'The Truth' Williams + Oliver McCall's chin = A Great Fighter.
He had a great jab, good movement and could let the punches go. He could have got the decision against Holmes. I wonder how he would have done against Tyson if he had a great chin.
This is a good one. Williams did have ability and tried hard. His chin often let him down.

Bit harsh.
I hate Broner as much as the next man, but the lad has skills and a decent dig. Add Floyds IQ and a thorough training regime and you'd have a pretty special fighter

Late career Calzaghe but with good hands would be awesome
I have heard it argued that his bad hands made him the fighter he was in his late career.
With good hands he was a power puncher with a good knockout ratio.
Had his hands held out would he have dished out that fast punching master class to Lacy,
Had he been looking for that big finishing blow would Kessler walked him on to something or B-Hop been able to clown him?
We'll never know but it would have been interesting to find out.
I was just about to put this!!!! Scrap Iron had chilling power, aggression and was a very good technical boxer when he chose to be. He just had no chin whatsoever. That would've made a wrecking machine!!!!!
Floyd Mayweather with Ricky Burns out of the ring persona.
"You know, I sold out MGM, made record ppv numbers and made a couple hundred mill from my last fight, but I'll be back at JD Sports selling trainers on Saturday afternoon, keeping it real."

I used to enjoy watching him box, he seemed to love it!
What about Froch with Hearns' power or Julian Jackson with McCallum's chin?

I have argued that myself He definitely had to become more intelligent and circumspect- in his earlier career he had the kind of confidence that made him almost arrogant and blase about taking shots- and the technical master class against Kessler was the crowning glory of his later style where he couldn't crack an egg punching upstairs and was really wary of throwing the left hand hard at all, but still managed to bury the right into kesslers solar plex.
I think as he got older he would have naturally become more cautious and intelligent and fought a bit more with a view to prolonging his career, the ability/willingness to throw hard to the head would have made a frightening fighter to face- albeit I am sure he would take more shots in this hypothetical career than he did in his actual later career!
Brian Nielsen with Evander Holyfield's devotion to training.
Mike 'The Bounty' Hunter with Sugar Ray Leonard's management and legal team.
Meldrick Taylor with Julio Cesar Chavez's connections - roles reversed, there is no way in the world Steele is stopping Chavez with 2 seconds to go.
and
Tyrell Biggs with more power, better stamina, less cuts, less drug problems, more focus, less amateur fights and no Mike Tyson. Wait, is that more than one?

Scrap featured in a video form the mid 90s (Lords of the ring). He said that when he boxed he would go out and "Beat 'em up first. Don't just win, beat 'em up, then knock 'em out"

Your first ever flash of genius. The demented Hunter had bags of everything (including coke), and should've done a lot more with his gifts. Spoke to his youngest son, weirdly. A nice boy.

Froch hits very hard already, I'd give him Hearns speed

Floyd without the fragile hand problems would also be ridiculous. He'd probably end up killing someone.
Klitschko with an iron chin would still have stamina issues an still wouldn't be able to throw an uppercut or fight on the inside. That said, he would probably take more risks and fight more like the pre-Steward Klitschko, so while he'd be more entertaining, it's not a certainty that he'd be more effective.
Ambling Alp II wrote:You mean DLH with Mayweather's opponent selection style, right?
You can say that. If DLH chose opponents the in the style Mayweather did, he'd probably be undefeated.
I even think DLH choosing Whitaker and Quarley was risky and he didn't need Quarley at all.
Oscar couldn't go undefeated in Floyd's shoes. Hilarious.
Which of Floyd's opponents would beat Oscar? He can't fight himself and Manny was in his prime and fighting a drained shell of Oscar, where as Floyd took him on after he'd lost a couple of steps.

Good call, I think it's an open question who hits harder out of Froch and Hearns at 168lb, Tommy hits harder in a p4p sense of course.

Have you ever tried to hit with a broken hand? I bet anyone who says having smashed hands 'made Calzaghe' hasn't. He would have been better had his hands held up. Obviously.
What about his hand(s)? You could argue if he fought more, he'd have more hand trouble. Granted crashing his roller didn't help his rehabilitation but...
