what's happening with Hennesey sports ?
Did I read correct that Hennessey sport's contract with channel 5 is up after this weekends fight ? Any ideas where his fights are going to be broadcast in the future ?

I'd imagine Tyson will be Sky Box Office or allegedly, Hughie BN and Blackwell BN or Tyson undercard. He's hit the jackpot now so not under a tenth of the pressure he was. I guess C5 only gave him the push because Tyson wasn't part of the deal.rd350lc wrote:Did I read correct that Hennessey sport's contract with channel 5 is up after this weekends fight ? I think there's a chance Hennesseymight end up getting Fury on BN's ppv arm if young Wazza can get his ducks in a line.

Re: what's happening with Hennesey sports ?
Messaged them a couple of days ago asking about fight times for Saturday so I could buy tickets (wanted to make sure id catch Webb fight but can't get there until 8).
Still no reply although they saw the message on Facebook. Surprised they'd either be that disorganised that rough times aren't ready or they don't mind missing a ticket sale on what looks to be a slow selling event.
Suppose at least with cyclone they will get some large fights

They seem like a very amateur organisation
Never have their events had big ticket sales

Matchroom would only sell that out by giving them away? I've been offered about six different free prize draws for Brook tickets this week by email and Twitter. The Matchroom Copperbox show was more than half empty and most that were there were free!Glass Joe wrote:be lucky is there a few thousand there tomorrow, matchroom would of sold the place out, not sure why eubank jr is taking the fight, he proabbly got of got 750-1m to fight saunders again

Seen a few claiming they've not even sold 3k for tomorrow, even Hearn admitted they had less than 4k in Birmingham, don't think Liverpool next week has gone particularly well either unless the undercard fighters have sold loads.mickey1975 wrote:Matchroom would only sell that out by giving them away? If you have TV you don't really need ticket sales so much.
I've heard another promoter has a deal with Ch5 in the pipeline.

Come on mate. Some of the shows mentioned further up the page could have an extra 3000 people in there paying at least 50 quid a pop. That makes a hell of a difference unless you put on a lot of shows a year to subsidise it. There's no way you could build a business of shows like some of the ones mentioned further up, or this Wembley one if the ticket sales are as bad as they say.CharlesListon wrote:If you have TV you don't really need ticket sales so much.

3000 £50 tickets is more than TV pay. The Sheffield bill will be expensive. Brook and Campbell will be on minimum purses. Camp Eddie will get it all back, with interest, on the 9th at The O2.jameswilson wrote:Come on mate. Re: what's happening with Hennesey sports ?
I don`t think just under 4 k for the Birmingham show was to bad at all,I know Hearn was a bit disappointed with it but 5 years ago just under 4 k would of been very decent for a British title fight and better then most comparable shows,I think because the other Matchroom Brummie shows were poor and the fact that the Davis cup was on in the City had an effect.I think tomorrows show will do at least 5k but we shall see if Matchroom lighting goes dark then usual and more like a allegedly show.I think Hearn was a dick the other day saying that Derry-Terry only did 2500,it sure sounded like more and many people have said it did far better then that.I also think if Matchroom do 6k for Liverpool that is decent less then 5 I would say is disappointing especially with all his big talk of his Liverpool fighter as big ticket sellers.expe wrote:Seen a few claiming they've not even sold 3k for tomorrow, even Hearn admitted they had less than 4k in Birmingham, don't think Liverpool next week has gone particularly well either unless the undercard fighters have sold loads.mickey1975 wrote:Matchroom would only sell that out by giving them away? If it's for live boxing that would be great , but havn't they given up the primetime saturday night slot to football ?CharlesListon wrote:If you have TV you don't really need ticket sales so much.

Re: what's happening with Hennesey sports ?
True however they have virtually no football highlights in June, July and August and there will be free weekends due to FA Cup and International football. Noticed they're only showing a 30 minute goal rush show tomorrow night and giving Eubank the primetime slot. Worse case scenario the fights will end up on Spike TV.rd350lc wrote:If it's for live boxing that would be great , but havn't they given up the primetime saturday night slot to football ?CharlesListon wrote:If you have TV you don't really need ticket sales so much.

I cant see PBC coming over here as they cant even put shows on in the states, they have a deal with ESPN to put shows on and have yet this year not done one and have none in the schedule so will be half of the year without 1 single show! rumours the money has ran out for them!

I've heard it's another British promoter that is in discussions with Ch5.
I don't want to say who in case it somehow jinxed it....but they've previously done shows with eurosport and have a sizeable stable of boxers.

Fury v Wlad and Billy v Eubanks, Wembley, July, BN PPV, existing BN subscribers to get reimbursement on PPV buy money. Hennessey and Frank to deliver. What say you?Sklar wrote:I think there's a chance Hennesseymight end up getting Fury on BN's ppv arm if young Wazza can get his ducks in a line.
