Thats how it works, if they cant agree then it goes to the bid winner. The same thing happened to Klitschko. Normally it was not a problem but now the fights are been taken in dodgy places like Grozny they will need to reevaluate the bid practice. Perhaps there should be a condition that the champion can demand the fight to take place at his home country.

That's interesting. I've never really understood how these purse bids work so that's on me I guess to figure out. It just seems nuts that a kid from the ghetto in Alabama makes good and becomes Champion and then has to fight against his will in some crazy country. Meanwhile Canelo was "ordered" to make a fight with GGG days after winning the belt but now that fight is not happening in 2016 if at all. My brains scrambled with what Mandatory means in Boxing.
