Dave allen
Is he any good?
I looked at his record and I looks awful as local bookies offering gavern 6-1 to beat him?
Any suggestion

Re: Dave allen
Talented young kid never really fought in top shape in his earlier fights and his career as been abit stop start last few year but from interviews recently he seems in a good place and looks in lot better shape when he used to fight earlier on in his career so only time will tell
The furies speak.very highly off him from when he's been to spar with Tyson Peter as been noted on numerous occasions that he thinks Allen is talented young fighter

Re: Dave allen
Given the short notice and recent surgery, Allen should win at a canter, he's better than his record suggests. 6-1 is not a true reflection of the fight though, the market yes, not the fight. It's a value bet.mullenman wrote:Is he any good?

He looked totally clueless last night, that overarm right he throws is dreadful and he seems to fancy himself as a banger when he clearly isn't.
Really embarrassing IFL interview on Youtube as well, thick as two short planks, inarticulate, deluded.

Re: Dave allen
i agree completely. hideous punching technique, poor looping right hook, non existent left hook. plus no power. he needs to go to a decent trainer. why did towers not want to fight him?Peanut Brittle wrote:He looked totally clueless last night, that overarm right he throws is dreadful and he seems to fancy himself as a banger when he clearly isn't.

Towers seems content to be a sparring partner these days, I think the fights with Tony and Browne underlined his limitations and dented his self belief.

Maybe he needs to go back to his former career and get his iron out again....Peanut Brittle wrote:Towers seems content to be a sparring partner these days, I think the fights with Tony and Browne underlined his limitations and dented his self belief.

Re: Dave allen
What has anyone seen in Allen to suggest he's above area level?
I saw nothing last night

Re: Dave allen
Missed the fights last night, just watched the Allen fight. Dreadful. Admittedly a ridiculously awkward opponent but the amount of times he just fell into him was poor. Literally half a step back and picking the right shot could have ended it. Watt was actually spot on about his poor punch selection. Haven't heard what he had to say about it but I saw him call David Price out before the fight. Price would absolutely flatten him.

Allen's comments about Price can be heard here, be warned NSFW don't listen if kids or the easily offended are nearby

Price is a liability but I still reckon he'd flatten Allen without too much bother.Peanut Brittle wrote:Allen's comments about Price can be heard here, be warned NSFW don't listen if kids or the easily offended are nearby

I agree, so would Briggs who he mentions a couple of times. Makes me laugh how he regards himself a puncher as wellStuarty30 wrote:Price is a liability but I still reckon he'd flatten Allen without too much bother.
