There were lots of close rounds, but I favoured Graham's work in most of them.

Graham - Cook
10 - 8

10 - 9
- - - TKO
40-35 Graham
Graham hit Cook when he was down and hit him on the break a few times. Pointless rule breaking like that would cost him against McCallum two fights later.

Re: 52 fight challenge: Week 12 - Herol Graham vs Mike McCallum
I had Graham winning 116-111,.i thought he was robbed if I'm honest ,McCallum might have been pressing but he wasn't throwing or landing enough to win the rounds early on IMO,he did have more success as the fight progressed but Herol was a clear winner on my card
2 things I'm ashamed of,id never seen Bomber fight before and I never knew he fought Mike

I could have easily scored it wider. He was the clear winner for me as well.handsofstone wrote:I had Graham winning 116-111,.i thought he was robbed if I'm honest ,McCallum might have been pressing but he wasn't throwing or landing enough to win the rounds early on IMO,he did have more success as the fight progressed but Herol was a clear winner on my card

Re: 52 fight challenge: Week 12 - Herol Graham vs Mike McCallum
1. Graham - Fast start and really elusive, making a really good fighter in McCallum look slow and pretty average, be surprised if it continues like this
2. Graham - Slick work again but makes a few mistakes and inaccurate swinging at times with Mike having more success
3. McCallum - real change of pace, Graham less mobile and ate a few big shots to head and body
4. Graham - He threw a lot but missed a lot. I could have given this one a draw
5. Draw - Could have been scored a KD early in the round, but Graham missed too much to win the round for me.
6. McCallum - Some nice punches and good combinations from Graham but constant pressure and body work from McCallum
7. Graham - Controlled distance brilliantly and countered everything until the last 30 seconds when he shipped some real big punches
8. McCallum - 10-8 because of point deduction and Herol not landing enough
9. McCallum - Graham attempted to back Mike up and walked into a lot of big shots. Clear McCallum round
10 - Draw - Both men landed some good shots, both men looking very tired at this point
11. McCallum - close round and very ragged, preferred Maccallums work when it got up close
12. Graham - McCallum looked desperately tired and Graham seemed to have that bit more left in the tank
115-114 McCallum
Real clash of styles and an entertaining bout.
Herols style was unmistakable but he seemed to come out most rounds with a different game plan. Some rounds on his bike, arms at his waist, countering with single shots, others hands up trying to meet Mccallum centre ring and back him up using combinations.
Fairly remarkable that Herol never won a world title but he faced some mean opposition and few tougher than Mike McCallum.

Watched Bomber's fight with Cook and the guy just oozes class, time and time again he snapped James's head back with lefts, granted it wasn't anything like a contest but still,to see Graham do his thing is a joy to behold ![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)
