SKY Pundits/Commentators

Post by fightfan95 »

Who's your favourite and who's your worst?

I like Jamie Moore - I think he is honest, scores a fight well - can tell he knows his boxing, SKY need to use him more I think.

I really dislike Jim Watt with a passion! Some of the fights he scores just blow my mind, he is so biased. Sometimes I have to listen with mute on!

Watts scoring seems to be getting worse! I always have the sound on but I usually zone out and don't notice so much until his scorecard comes up on screen or a mate texts bitching about his scoring...

Agree I really like Jamie Moore. He does a wee collumn every so often on SkySports web and it's always a good read. Ed Robinson is really good as well.

I don't mind Bellew and Froch as pundits and I like Malignaggi whenever he makes an appearance.

This.

Sky's commentary is terrible but the pundits are usually good IMO.

Moore is great.

Macklin also reads a fight well & is pretty eloquent, I think he'd make an excellent full-time pundit when he retires.

Halling's commentary is generally woeful, although I did like the way he slated the IBF mandatories on Saturday.

I like Robinson and Glen McCrory - serious, insightful conversations from these two.

Nelson pisses me off. Too brash too loud too biased in favour of the house fighter.

Jim Watt probably had Calzaghe Lacy as a draw! He's away with the fairies!

Ed Robinson should be head of boxing for Sky. Very knowledgable.

Bellew is a good pundit as is Froch.

I used to enjoy Glenn doing the commentary he was good at that.

Halling the only one who occasionally annoys me and Watt sometimes leaves me scratching my head after seeing his scorecard.

Halling is the worst. Just dreadful, shameless cheerleading for the most part.

Ive wrote multiple times about Jim Watt being replaced or retired as his scoring and commentry are very biased...its like he picks his man and no matter what happens he backs him all the way through. Its funny when his scorecard is way way off the mark but then he says he cant argue with the result

McCrory and Darke were the main men commentating!

Froch and Bellew ............ are good pundits.

Froch a very good pundit, although nowhere near as polished as some of the vets, but he's doing well.

Ed Robinson, Jamie Moore and Bellew all good too.

Mallignaggi is excellent when available.

I enjoy Mallignaggi too. He has a way of succinctly explaining the technicalities of a fight as you'd expect from someone with his experience and knowledge.

Doesn't explain Jim Watt though, some of what he says is so biased. Disappointing as he knows his sport.

I heard they stopped using Alex Arthur because he told it as he seen it , he was told you need to side with the matchroom fighter and everything was pro matchroom ..

I like McCrory the best. He's been there and I find his delivery good. One has to remember Sky staff are under serious to sell their packages, sell Sky, sell PPV. So true objectivity is hard to come by in the Murdoch empire. They're all pawns in the game
