Create The Perfect 70's & 80's Heavyweight Matchup.

Post by keithmoonhangover »

OK, so just for a little bit of fun. Create your perfect heavyweight using spare parts from fighters of those decades. Let's have a few rules.

1. No using parts from any of the lineal champions, Frazier, Foreman, Ali, Spinks x 2, Holmes and Tyson.
2. No more than one part from any one boxer.
3. Even if a boxer was active in both decades, you cannot use a spare part from him on both your 70's and 80's heavyweight.
3. Once you have created one fighter from each decade, match them up.

Here's the template.

70's heavyweight

The jab of....
The right hand of.....
The left hook of....
The uppercut of....
The bodyshots of....
The stamina of....
The chin of....
The footwork of....
The handspeed of....
The defence of....

80's heavyweight

The jab of....
The right hand of.....
The left hook of....
The uppercut of....
The bodyshots of....
The stamina of....
The chin of....
The footwork of....
The handspeed of....
The defence of....

And the winner is.....

Filling in a few blanks. I don't really have an answer for most of these categories since you cut out the possibility of using Champions, but I filled in the blanks where I knew I had a pretty definitive answer

Bonavena over Chuvalo in the chin category?

Well, I guess Oscar did go the distance twice with Frazier.

On the other hand, Ellis put Oscar down twice, iirc. Can't quite ever see Jimmy knocking George down. And the Ali knockdowns of Oscar need to be considered.

Good choices.

Those would be two great fighters, but the ultimate question is, which one would win?

My money would be on the 70s fighter, but I don't say that with full confidence.

Definitely should be Chuvalo for chin, I was just going off of my head and giving the OP and answer. Sure I missed some other stuff too. i saw someone had dokes for handspeed, that's better than Tillis too.
