HW world title in least fights....

Post by Wales »

Leon Spinks did it in 8 fights, Joshua has chance to do I in his 16th. Any HWs done it quicker than Spinks? If not, then quicker than AJ could do?

At HW Spinks holds the record. Old timer James J. Jeffries won the HW title in his 14th fight. Pete Rademacher fought for the HW title against Floyd Patterson on his debut, and even decked Patterson, but was knocked out in the 6th.

How sure are we of this? Many records of old fights have been lost, or just weren't made.

Michael Bentt beat Tommy Morrison in his 12th fight for the LRWBO title.

(LR means 'lightly regarded').

Is the WBO regarded as a better belt than the IBF?

Worth noting he beat Morrison for it, who is likely to be regarded higher than Martin

The WBO were considered a joke throughout the 1990s, and not part of the undisputed title. I think we can discount Michael Bentt.

Does that count a host of other great British champions that have been WBO champs in your opinion?
