Can't say I'm a particular fan of Theophane, but I detest Broner so I concur entirely.

Not yet, got 2 hours to make weight, shaving his beard off would be a good start.

OP can you change the thread title please to reflect Broner failing to make the weight?

Thanks

Aye it's excessive! Wouldn't mind shaving it myself with a broken bottle!

I can't figure out a valid reason why he wouldn't want to make weight.

So the title is only at stake for Theophane, if Broner wins it's declared vacant.

So does this mean Burns fight with DiRocco will be for the 'full' title ??

If theophane loses I would have thought so.

Broner should have the ability to stop Theophane but with all that has gone one I think labouring to a points win is the most likely outcome. Hopefully Theophane can at least make it competitive.

By the sounds of it, it seems they got up early and Broner worked all day to get as low as he could, hence why he didn't do any more after he failed to make weight - he was probably already down the maximum amount he could go. I think this will have weakened him and I'm starting to think that this coupled with a lack of focus due to antics outside of the ring, maybe Theophane has a chance here. 12/1 are big odds!

Can somebody please explain what Spike TV is? Is it just the name of a broadcast Channel 5 do or is it an entirely different channel?

Couldn't find it for today but it is on there tomorrow, so a 24 hourish delay yeah? Not too bad really, good to have as much boxing free to air as possible. Will know the result but will still give it a watch.

He did. That was a horrible stoppage.

I had the fight even after 8 rounds.

BS stoppage that although I do think the ref thought Theophane was signalling he didn't want to continue even though it was because of the low blow ,shame because Ashley was coming into the fight,he started off slow but was doing enough to make it competitive it's just Broner more quality shots were nicking him the rounds,I thought Adrien was poor, lazy again and pretty boring, credit to him being the 1st guy to stop Theophane but he could've got it done quicker if he's as good as he thinks he is

I feel for Theophane he showed plenty of effort as we knew he would and you'd have to put the stoppage down to bad luck more than anything, real shame that

Lol at Broner/Mayweather I'm not arsed about that,Floyd wins easily without giving Broner the beatdown he deserves

Theophane looked nervous as hell in the early rounds, like he was fighting Godzilla or something. He kinda calmed down after a while, but I felt like all the rounds Theophane won in the fight were more a case of Broner just taking the round off and giving the round away than Theophane being better than him in any given round.

It was Broner's fight to lose, and he let Theophane in it way more than he ever should've, but that's who Broner is. A stupid fighter who makes everything harder than it needs to be, including life in general.
