Those guys who had beaten Adamek are actually talented. Molina is not talented.crusader wrote:Shopworn Adamek won about 3 rounds against Glazkov 2 years ago then was cleary beaten by Artur, who had just been outclassed and knocked out by Jennings. You really think people would consider Adamek a big step up when he's clearly passed it and already lost to a guy Wilder beat?Badhusker wrote:hurricanemitch14 wrote:Not a bad for a couple of "bums" that Wilder destroyed. Duhaupus's with. Should shut people up. I remember when people on here were talking about how great Helenius was.
It will shut them up, but they will never come on here and admit it. Molina and Duhaupus were tomato cans, but Adamek and Helenius would have been big steps up for Wilder.
Adamek vs Eric Molina

Before KO all judges scores 88-83 for Adamek.
Re: Adamek vs Eric Molina
I wouldn't call Molina a top guy, far from it. What people forget is that he is a guy that Wilder fought 2 months after breaking his hand. The fight should have been stopped in the 4th or 5th round when Molina turned his back and quit fighting. Anyway, decent win for Wilder at the time I thought since he was fighting with a hand that wasn't fully healed.

A painful few days for you I guess....diddy wrote:I backed up the brinks truck on Adamek. He just needs to finish the fight.

Adamek & Helenius would have been 'names' not step ups in quality in their present forms. KInda of like how Samuel Peter and Liakhovich were names more than anything else when Helenius flattened them.Badhusker wrote:hurricanemitch14 wrote:Not a bad for a couple of "bums" that Wilder destroyed. Helenius was a top prospect who looked like he might turn into a contender before 4 years in the wilderness and looking bad in his comeback fights.
Adamek earned his Klitschko beatdown/cashout and should have retired after perhaps a US and Poland farewell fights but his damaging loss to Vitali was 5 years and 9 fights ago. It was plain to see that he had very little left other than his name that's why he may well have been considered for Wilder.

Re: Adamek vs Eric Molina
Adamek hasn't looked good for quite a while. It was only a question of when, and Molina was in the right place at the right time.
As for Helenius, aside from some power, he was never regarded as a good boxer. Then he had a bunch of problems and was away for a long time. Still, if he had played it safe with Dauhaupas he might have lasted the distance, but he left himself open and got nailed. Even dubs like the Frenchman get lucky from time to time.
