Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Martin is lazy by nature over the first few rounds
This shall suit him well v Joshua
There is no rush

Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
That just might be wishfull thinking too. Fury admitted that Joshua handed his ass to him a few years back sparring. If you really believe Fury and all the crap that comes out of his mouth, I question your intelligence. Not saying I question yours Star, but just saying...Starboxer wrote:Tyson fury picks martin to wipe the floor with Joshua

Less than 7 days to go , Joshua has talent but can he live with the big players ?
Joshua has never gone past 7 rounds in his pro career , can Martin take him deep ?
To be a champion you have to have substance , history proves this !
Joshua is like an unproven skid mark

Joshua doesn't have to live with the 'big players', he's fighting Martin.Starboxer wrote:Badhusker

Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Dont rate Martin at all.
Neither does Eddie Hearn who jumped at chance to get him over to fight Joshua by offering him huge money. $5m plus a percentage of ppv sales apparently! Martin reportedly got $250k for fighting Glazkov

Martin being asouthaw makes this fight interesting
I bet the odds on Martin get lower as the fight gets closer , watch were the smart money goes

Sooner or later Joshua will be dragged to the late rounds , you can not ko everyone, boxing history proves thisTaki... wrote:Joshua doesn't have to live with the 'big players', he's fighting Martin.Starboxer wrote:Badhusker

Martin is the best fighter Joshua has faced as a pro by a country mile

Really buzzing for this fight , the atmosphere will be off this planet
The pressure is really on Joshua now , the fans think he is Superman

Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Joshua comes out with bad intentions, I've seen some marvellous boxers start too slowly and get beaten by cruder less refined fighters who get in there early. Martin will have to fight hard enough from the first bell or he'll get stopped really quickly.Starboxer wrote:Martin is lazy by nature over the first few rounds

Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
The jury is still out on whether Martin is better than Whyte. Nothing in Martin's record or performances suggest he's a step up.Starboxer wrote:Wales wrote:Dont rate Martin at all.

And bear in mind Martin has only gone beyond 6 rounds once, against the mighty Z-Love. His 'deep water' and 'championship rounds' experience are hardly nailed on advantages.
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
To me it is a 50-50 fight, but favor Martin in the upset. Big southpaw with power and great combinations. Joshua is no joke, but how much oxygen to feed the muscles he will need to go late will be the big question. Martin is kind of an unknown fighter, but I like his chances. If he shows a great chin, I think he takes it. Great fight for the heavyweight division, that will go a long way to legitimize this belt.Starboxer wrote:Badhusker

This is why I think Joshua will blow his wad , Joshua fights crazy from the first bell
Joshua is exciting , whyte could of won that fight but the Savage beating in the first 5 rounds and those body shots from hell made whyte even more tired than Joshua , no one can stay strong when their rib cage is being smashed in ...
Martin is a lot more clever than whyte tho and carries nuclear power in his left hand
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Charles Martin isn't a gnarled veteran of tough fights either, he's been past six rounds once and his own record isn't a who's who of proven names. Anything can happen and Martin may prove to be too versatile but Joshua, with his strength and power may be too much for Charles to avoid and then take advantage of.Starboxer wrote:Badhusker

Maybe, Starboxer - I just think that in a smallish ring Joshua will be a bit too much. Whyte was getting out boxed at times by minto , martin is more cute than whyte and this is why bookies are not giving odds of 8 to 1
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
'Cuter' doesn't count for much. Amir Khan was cuter than Prescott and Garcia.Starboxer wrote:Taki... wrote:The jury is still out on whether Martin is better than Whyte. Nothing in Martin's record or performances suggest he's a step up.Starboxer wrote:

Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
83-17 fight in favour of AJ according to the exchange bookmakers, so if you think its 50-50 you should fill your boots. I am inclined to still bet AJ and am hoping the odds my fall back to 75-25. I am also thinking of Charles Martin without the Glazkov 'win' and think he had no one on his resume because his handlers did not think he could easily beat anyone in the top 50. So I think AJ might just do him in the first 90 seconds.Badhusker wrote:To me it is a 50-50 fight, but favor Martin in the upset. Big southpaw with power and great combinations. Why would ANYONE say that "Fury"CatTyson is "King" of anything other than WBA & WBO a.t.m. really escapes ME/MY understanding!Badhusker wrote:That just might be wishfull thinking too. That man is a design to bring CULTURE further down- down- down! : )
Has he even "grown" as an individual since owning the championship?
I like him as a boxer (bb: like the GUY even "better"should he trade-off w/Wlad. that next....)
Tyson Fury character is "basement Hood" kind of stuff....what I have SEEN thus far! [If he came after me for saying all this I don't know what I would do. I am "already committed" to give-everything can't ruin my Avenue now! : ) but...he IS a "chump" in the larger-Social-picture. HOPE HE LIFTS UP!]
"King" of nothing but 1/2 the HVY-wt title at moment. Hope he is enjoying LIFE. HE can lose them two belts very quickly.
Joshua Anthony vs C.Martin my money is on Joshua Anthony. Martin's chances are about 10 or 11%. But who knows until it is over with. FURY CAT IS TOUGH...but he doesn't have "special insight".

You going to KEEP "star" in your handle when this is finished and you are wrong? I just now put down $80.00 covered by $30.00 $80.00 on JAnthony. April 9.Starboxer wrote:Watch Joshua blow his wad

The last time I see such a SURE THING was back in '01 when B'Hop 3-to-1 underdog defeated Felix TheCat Trin. [I did that one at $370.00 even-up].

Joshua needs to open the fight cool , calm and collected , trouble is Joshua is under pressure and is in love with his ko powerpalooka wrote:

Joshua reminds me of David haye when he flopped v the cat Thompson
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Carl Thompson was smart old veteran with enough wits and whiskers to let Haye punch himself out. How anyone sees any similarity between Thompson and Martin is a mystery to me.Starboxer wrote:Joshua needs to open the fight cool , calm and collected , trouble is Joshua is under pressure and is in love with his ko powerpalooka wrote:

Joshua will have learned his lesson from the Whyte fight. Martin's a live dog because he's a relatively unknown quantity NOT because he's a HW version of Carl Thompson.

Joshua v. Martin is a massive fight
It's an event
all the celebrity's are buying a ticket , ringside costs a fortune , this is what big time boxing is about
Even Wayne Rooney can't get a ticket
