What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
From his FB page...
I feel for my former foe Christopher Rebrasse. I felt he clearly won tonight but lost out a close split decision. 18 months ago I shared 12 rounds with Rebrasse. He was in an awful lot better shape than he was tonight and I won a clear 12 rounds points decision fighting on the front foot with a high work rate. Threw close to 1000 punches but because I didn't KO Christopher I was deemed to be over the hill, a fading fighter. Since then he came over and gave Callum Smith all the trouble over 12 rounds and again tonight showed what he's worth, and I am still 'on my way out'. I have lost since my win over the Frenchman. A loss against WBC champion Badou Jack away from home in a split decision...
This I can assure you though was only a blip. I am on the come back and next week will show everyone again what I am all about. Some huge fights in the pile line this year so stay tuned. Next outing is Saturday April 9th. Live on Sky Sports PPV from the O2 arena, London. Hope you all tune in and enjoy.. Oh and don't believe every headline you read, they have an obvious agenda these days!

Not sure what he's on about but I hope Brophy KOs him or at least gives him a good go. He's right about Rebrasse though.
Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
Groves probably doesn't even know himself what he is on about

I agree with George for once
Sky give him stick because he is not with match room
George is a world class fighter
Sky got every card scoring wrong last night
They need new comentators badly
George will beat Murray on June 4th

Murray needs a comeback fight before Groves.mullenman wrote:I agree with George for once

Murray vs. Rebrasse, Mouhammadi or Di Luisa next.
Fielding is in a better position to face Groves at this moment in time...

Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
Fielding doesn't seem to have improved his boxing technique or strategies in the last 2 years. He is tall and heavy handed and just seems to use these attributes, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of craft or guile to his boxing. Groves would beat him quite easily, I thought Rebrasse won last night by a couple of rounds.
Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
Groves v Murray is on june 4th in godison park
It will be a major announcement straight after george beats Brophy on Saturday night..
Good fight but I see george out working Martin...

I don't think fielding would duck anybody...
Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
Fielding seemed relieved last night that he wasn't the main attraction, I'm not sure he has the temperament to headline a big show. Ricky's boxing technique and defence strategies are not practice's enough for him to elude Grove's power shots. Rebrasse has shown the difference in class between Groves and Rocky

Is it this?A British doctor has been secretly filmed describing how he prescribed banned performance- enhancing drugs to 150 elite sportsmen, including Premier League footballers.
An investigation by The Sunday Times has found that Dr Mark Bonar charges sports stars thousands of pounds for illicit drug programmes.
Yesterday, the culture secretary, John Whittingdale, ordered an inquiry into the taxpayer-funded UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) watchdog, which was given evidence about the doctor’s doping activities two years ago, but failed to take any action to stop him.
Bonar, 38, who is based at a private London clinic, made a series of extraordinary disclosures in meetings with undercover reporters which lay bare for the first time the depth of the drugs cheating culture within British sport. He claimed:
•His network of secret “clients” included an England cricketer, British Tour de France cyclists, a British boxing champion, tennis players and martial arts competitors as well as football players

Think it's the agenda with him not being a Matchroom fighter.
He's also been aggrieved recently with a few things Johnny Nelsons been saying... but Nelson has rarely ever backed Groves, even going back to the Degale fight and the episode of Ringside where he made it fairly obvious he thought Groves was in over his head.

Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
I also agree with his comments regarding his fight with Rebrasse and comparison's with his further fights with Smith and last night against Fielding.
Let's also remember Rebrasse was entering the ring against Groves with a champions mentality, he wouldn't have wanted to give up that Euro strap.

Does any think George is slightly losing his mind?

There's at least 80,000 people who will remember him getting knocked out by Carl Froch.........At Wembley.mickey1975 wrote:He won't. Whatever happens, both Froch fights will go down in British boxing history.JohnH wrote:Groves is done and will end up long forgotten.
Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
I heard a reporter (almost certainly Helder or Cassius) state the other day that there were fewer than 80,000 at that fight. Not sure Froch will be able to sleep knowing that.jamesmcdonnell wrote:There's at least 80,000 people who will remember him getting knocked out by Carl Froch.........At Wembley.mickey1975 wrote:He won't. There was a lot of unsold coach and ticket packages. I'd guess there was around 77,000 there.
Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
And a fair few saw him pole axe Froch in the first fight too, let us not forget...jamesmcdonnell wrote:There's at least 80,000 people who will remember him getting knocked out by Carl Froch.........At Wembley.mickey1975 wrote:He won't.
