AL BERNSTEIN
AL BERNSTEIN
My favorite commentator for over 40 years, would like to see opinions
Re: AL BERNSTEIN
He and Barry Tompkins were a great team no doubt. After USA lost boxing I am not sure he ever found himself that good place in the boxing game since then. He is still good on SHO when he is on there but not like back in the day.

Al has always been one of my favourites as well. 10 times better than Max Kellerman and Jim Lampley combined.

Al Bernstein has always been one of the best. Very informative and objective.
Not flashy. Max isn't bad, but more subjective and more fan-like, if that makes sense.

Even his voice fits boxing. When ever I think boxing commentators, he is the first that comes to mind. Grew up watching him call fights.

I like most of the commenting teams.... yes, even Lampley and Max. It does bug me when Jim starts cheer leading. However, it was Jim and Larry who were there most of the time when I started watching boxing over 20 years ago. So, they are about as ingrained into by boxing psyche as the sport is.
